Denver is over. A long drive with lost of crazy drivers out there. As you may know, one person from our group of three exhibitors was successful in receiving an award. Allan, aka Nextceo placed second in the "diorama on line" class.  Steven Drees and I went home empty handed.  No fear, there were a great array of diorama's to choose from. I will say that I thought that Allan's model should have walked away with best in show, but that is my humble opinion, any only my opinion. His model was fantastic and knowing how much time he spent to create his master piece, but apparently did not have enough "dirt" on it.

All in all, the convention was a very enlightening experience, kudo's to everyone that  made it happen so well, thank you to all the lovely layouts that we saw. I still have pictures that I will post over the coming days. Time and energy ran out on several days. Lots of driving, but certainly well worth it.

One evening, several of the forum members, John Siekirk, Jaime, Steve Drees, Runner and several other members that my feeble brain cannot remember because of the long drive today. Sorry about that, but I am really tired. More tomorrow when body and brain are functioning better.

sounds like I missed a great show , but lucky we did not drive out as most east/west roads in Oregon are closed or real slow going due to all the fires. Over 1000 at last count

Rich,

Sorry you were not able to make the 37th NNGC. Better to be safe than sorry. A lot of the smoke from western fires clouded the skies in Denver.
It was my first, but probably not my last. It was a real pleasure to meet other members of the forum that I have not met before. While my model was unsuccessful in the contest room, I had a great time, met a lot of nice people and saw a bunch on beautiful layouts. My model is now being removed from the module and re installed on the layout. Here are two pics:  the module before and  during removal progress.

Over the next day or two, I'll try t post some more pics of the layout and models at the convention.

Hal Reynolds was also present at the convention. It was good to spend time with great folks while at the convention.

I'm try Catch up at work and then I'll post more photos.

Later.
