Friday September 8
« on: September 08, 2017, 05:39:58 AM »

Howdy.

Fridays are a wonderful thing.

Pictured above is a very nice contest entry at the 2017 National Narrow Gauge Convention.

I hope all in Florida and in the path of the hurricane remain safe.

Morning all. Yes they are Jaime, especially when you skipped out of town and have a three-day weekend. Keeping everyone in Florida in my thoughts, stay safe kids!

Morning Jaime, Dan and others,

Just waiting for the big event. I'm all ready. So far, no wind or rain.

Marty Ojaste (JusticeCity) and his daughter Kelsie stopped by yesterday for a visit. They flew in from Toronto for the hurricane. No, actually, they are at WDW. We had a great visit and it was good meeting another forum member.

Have a great day ya'll.

Tom ;D

Morning all,

Thanks to those of you who are concerned for those of us who appear to be directly in the path of Irma.  I'm at work today and it's going to be just another day in the cube except for an occasional peek at the forecast path of the storm to see if it's changed.

I have to check with Tom to see if he's still planning on running trains tomorrow morning and going out for BBQ or if he'll be busy battening down the hatches.   :D  I have a few things to do but nothing that will take too long.

Sunday, as the storm approaches I'll spend my time at the workbench.  Monday I had already scheduled as a day off and now they announced that the office will be closed.  Those who can work from home are supposed to but I'll take a pass on that one since I'm off anyway.  If nothing major happens I'll spend Monday at the workbench too.   :D

Have a great one!

Good Morning All,

We will finish up putting things up from outside this morning and then it's a waiting game. The weather guessers are saying we should start seeing the very outer bands tomorrow around 5 pm and be clear by late afternoon Monday.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Morning...

Yep, Fridays are a wonderful thing. Only problem is that my to-do list for Saturday is growing by leaps and bounds.

I'll have my friends and family down in FL on my mind this weekend. Stay safe guys.

Reading Bob,

Yes, I will be open for trains and hopefully SB will be open for some good BBQ.

I've already spoken to the Judge and he is good to go as well.

Anyone else is also welcome to come on by/down/over or what ever.

It looks like I will be the first of the Florida forum members to meet Irma, or as my daughter calls her, Irmageddon. Actually I won't meet her, i am still in Europe, but my home is in her direct path at last guess. There is a mandatory evacuation for residents east of US 1 in Ft Lauderdale and my place is east. A friend of mine sent a weekend forecast,

Sat   Rain/Thunder/Wind  86H/83L  100% Chance of Rain   NE Winds at 46 MPH           78% Humidity
Sun  Heavy Rain/Wind      85H/76L  100% Chance of Rain   NNW Winds at 136 MPH+    82% Humidity

there is humor in that forecast somewhere!

So for the rest of the Floridian, Georgian and Carolinian forum members, I hope you all stay safe. As my friend said, all this crap will be over by Monday, at least for Florida.

Good morning! I'm in Montana trying to weave my way around the forest fires - the people of Montana are also getting their butts kicked. I watched a farmer plowing circles around the spot fires in his, ready to harvest wheat field, yesterday. The tent cities of fire fighters are amazing.

To my friends in Florida and up the east coast, please be safe.

Lots of progress on the basement.  Framing is almost complete, and they should finish digging the holes for the bathroom drainage.  Electrician comes next week, and I have very specific instructions on how I want this wired.
