So here we are...

Lining up to tell you how to run this.

So here is my notion.

Two lines of packaging :

One,assortment that contribute to create a defined scene or structure activity.

Two, packaging of five eight or ten of specific (matching) items.

I donít know how Tichy does it ...  they either have a HUGE inventory or a very efficient on demand system but..... they recently turned a large (to me) order in a day, I ordered it on a Monday and had it on Thursday.  That includes across the country and the Idaho postal mule that routinely gets a flat.

With that Jimmy... best wishes in you new endeavor.

See ya

By the way... Railroadkits is already 6 weeks behind in filling casting orders.

Now that's funny.

Sweet! How about an F&SM kit deal similar to what Bar Mills just did recently?

Seeing the pic of the molds in the basement... something I've always been curious about.... Does George own the building that the that houses the legendary F&SM?

Anyhow... good news! George rulz. \m/ \m/

This is very exciting news !

Sure there are quite a number of manufacturers offering castings in various forms ( white metal, resin etc) but the history that will accompany these castings when they are produced will seperate them from the rest.

Quite a number of years ago FSM produced a boxed set of castings which I have been trying to get my hands on.

I recently purchased a box off eBay.....thank you Jimmy !

This might be a way of offering theses "new" castings in a way similar to what George did all those years ago.

What I like about the castings that came with FSM kits, and particularly in recent years, is the quality of them.
Very little flashing to remove and minimal filing of joint lines. I'm insure of the metal used but it was of very high quality.

This will be a great addition to our hobby, but the real challenge will be to replicate the quality of the previous production runs.

Wishing you great success in this new venture. You have a great team of colleagues and friends who will ensure that this happens !

I think Bob has some good marketing ideas for those castings.

A related question is how many separate inventory items do you want?  Brian Bollinger has a huge line of castings now, but those take up a lot of display (and storage) space.

Now that I am back working on trains, I am so glad that the FSM castings will be available...in metal I hope (Erin agrees and is happy to be back in trains too).
