You can do it Slim.

Call Preiser and have them send you a whole year's production.

See ya

Maybe just the characters from Boardwalk Empire. Nucky, Eli, Chalky White, Gyp, Richard Harrow (my favorite), Margaret, Valentin, Chianese, and Al Capone.
Great show.

Not Gyp. That guy's too much of a lunatic :o .I'd rather have Rothstein instead.

Slim, Bobby Cannavale, plays some crazy dudes (Vinyl). Than there was The Mother&^%$#@ with the Hat. He is from Union City, N. J..
Michael Stuhlbarg was also superb on the show. Good swap.

It depends on your audience- on your layout, or on a diorama entered in a popular vote contest, properly dulled down and weathered LP can help in adding interest and bringing the model to life by creating mini-scenes.

A model to be photographed for an article or to be entered in an NMRA judged contest, I usually skip figures as I feel they are more likely to detract than add value. Many photographs of models look absolutely like the real thing until you spot a figure or two in the picture.

The problem with most of the figures (like those of Preiser) that they tend to "in movement" postures. There just few who are in "idle mode".
It's not my ear, but I really like the HO pewter figures made by AC Stadden: https://www.acstadden.co.uk/shop-2

As I understood from him, he makes specific ranges if there is enough interest. Just wondering if there would be enough interest here for a set of US 1930s-1940s figures. Could ask how much interest (or pre-orders) he requires to make such a set.
Cheers,

Jeroen

Would be cool if there was enough interest to motivate him to do O scale.

Those pewter people look good.  I think the Edwardian workers could be used on our layouts without much modification.  Some 30's-50's workers would be useful as well.

OK............ I have reassessed my thinking.

You need to understand that I hate when I have to do this !! ! !

After reading through the judging rubrics ( repeatedly ) and visiting with a few people ( smarter than me ), I have come to the following thinking on figures for structure to be judged for AP points and certificates.

If it can be removed and not have any affect on the structure....... it is not included.

I am to be evaluating the structure as presented and include in that the modeler may have made this up to fit on some scene on his railroad.  It's not my railroad and not for me to decide if that figure might be appropriate.  I'm only evaluating the structure as presented before me.

This thinking, as noted above, was a previous position within the 3rd Division of the PNR of the NMRA.  That thinking will be amended.

Although I hate being brought to new places in thinking......... if it helps the hobby and makes a modeler better....... I'm for it ! ! !

thanx
Bob

Robert, It is refreshing to hear an intellectual point of view.
Now the rest of you don't get your britches in a twist.
Your points of view are also vary valid. Just not generally expressed as well.
I am certainly not one to brag when it comes to sentence structure.
I am just saying Bob is an eloquent speaker.
I got Webster's ninth at my side at all times.

Ed......

Thank you for your kind remarks.

I guess I have come a long way from the alleys of the Chicago west side.

My wife still says I talk like a dead end kid.

I suppose that I think through stuff more when I go to print.

thanx
Bob
