Sunday - August 13
« on: August 13, 2017, 05:49:41 AM »
Good morning all,

Had some of the guys over yesterday for a layout tour (Greg, Bob, Jim, Curt, Tom, and The Judge).  I didn't have a chance to take any photos, so hopefully one of them can post some.  Only had one 'accident' when the operator got distracted while running two trains on the same track.  :)

Planning to do some backdrop wall finishing (filling/sanding/priming/painting) today.

Morning All,

Had a productive but exhausting day yesterday...I rebuilt my yard tool shed in an HOA-compliant format  >:(  and got the yard/lawn done...that makes today essentially free :) . I'll spend some family time at home as tomorrow is little man's first day of school and then head over to (what I'll refer to here as ) the "Train House"...a little bit of work prep for next week and then some quality train time right up until Game of Thrones. I'm making a habit of spending Sunday night over there as I start my workweek in Jacksonville and this is 45 mins closer...so, a regular dose of "me time" which equals train time, also referred to as mental health time.

All of this bouncing around all summer has been a bit unsettling and unproductive (train-wise), but now is the time for me to form a routine that'll get me back on track  ::)

Have a good Sunday!

Morning Doug, Mark and others,

As Doug mentioned we had a very nice visit and layout tour. No picture can really give one the over all appearance or size of the Ogden and Cache Valley RR. It is an extremely impressive layout and to think Doug has done it all by himself is even more amazing. I think Onewolf is appropriate here.

I took a few pictures mainly as I wanted to see how his LED string lighting looked on the second level. I did get one picture of a BSing session. Left to right, Doug(Onewolf), Jim(jimmillho), Bill(The Judge), Bob(Reading
Bob) and Curt(PRRMODLER). Greg slipped out of the picture.

Have a great day ya'll.

Morning all.

Looks like a fun meet at the Ogden and Valley Cache RR.  It's my Friday and I'm getting ready for work.  Train On, people.

Good Morning All,

Hot again today. Had a great time at Doug's yesterday.  None of the pictures of his layout does it justice. It is amazing to see.

Today after some chores I plan on building the roof for my current project. I want to make it removable.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Morning all,

Yep, we had a great time visiting Doug's (Onewolf) layout yesterday.  Like Tom and Curt mentioned, pictures don't really do it justice.  From left to right, hiding in the back ground is Jim (jimmillho), Tom (ACL1504), Doug (Onewolf), Greg (GPdemayo) and Curt (PRR Modeler).

It's really amazing what Doug has accomplished in such a short period of time.   :o

Have a great one!

Morning all.

Great time at Doug's (onewolf) yesterday.  It is one of the most impressive layouts I have ever seen.  It is hard to believe that Doug did it all by himself.  The LED lighting gives the best "No Shadow" view everywhere on the layout.

Good Morning all from Arizona,

Shortly after going to bed last night we were awoken to a a very loud and bright thunder and lighting storm. Not much water came out of it, but it was impressive, but brief. A bit over cast this morning and quite humid. I'm in the train room, naturally.

Looks like the SBG had a great time visiting Onewolf's layout. With the people in the photograph, you get a better feeling of the true size of the layout. Kudo's to Doug for taking on such a huge project. Truly impressive. Can't wait to see what scenery style he will be using.

hope everyone has a great weekend, no matter what you are doing.

Afternoon to all,
Late check in for me today. Cloudy and light rain ... maybe candy kitchen weather tonight ... Nice to see the layout get together photos  ;) ...
Helped a model T get out of a ditch yesterday ... he lost a connecting rod in his front end ... my basement socket set to the rescue  ;) ... and 2 other cars pulled over to pull him out of the muddy steep ditch back to the blacktop road ... 8) All have a great Sunday !

Good evening!  I'm checking in real late.  I have had a wonderful weekend with my family.  Amy and I had both of our daughters home with their families for the weekend. My oldest daughter and her husband flew in from CA. The house was full again, and we all had a great time. The trains on the S&S RR got a workout.  My youngest Grandson, at 15 months, now knows how to make the trains go, blow the whistle and make the bell ring,  with the NCE pro cab. I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend as much as I did.  It looks like a few of us had a very nice layout tour.
