Good Morning!  Getting ready for work.  Not sure if I'll get any modeling in tonight, but I'll give it a shot.

Morning Mark, Dan and others,

I'm taking the Babe to get her drivers license renewed. The documents required to get a renewal is unbelievable. Keep in mind your current DL with picture doesn't count for ID to prove who you may be. You need a birth certificate, marriage license, any divorce decree if applicable and social security card.

But, this is such a great country. You don't need to show you are a citizen to vote for the President.

Now I'm pissed and need a Diet Pepsi.

Have a great day if you have the proof to show you deserve one.

Good morning everyone! Some awesome modeling projects being posted here!  I hear you Tom, law abiding citizens have to jump through hoops , while criminals just drive around with no licenses and if they are caught, it's not like they go to jail or anything.  My brother is a cop and he tells me that most of these people never even show up to court, they just keep racking up warrants!
ok,,, time to make some hobby cash!

Bob C.,

I spent 33 years in law enforcement. A great majority of our citizens have no idea what goes on after dark and prior to sunrise. If they did, there would be less traffic and people out and about.

Trust me when I tell you the judicial system is broken for Americans. However, if you are an undocumented person you have more rights to all the government programs and services.

I could go on but I think my message is clear enough.

Morning all,

Good luck to Pam getting her license renewed!  It's a real challenge.  Don't you also need a couple of current account statements or bills to prove you live where you say you live?  Don't do like I did and take wrong Birth Certificate.  I have two, one the hospital issued that apparently doesn't count for anything and the 'real' one.  Guess which one I took the first time I went?   ::)

The night before last I did get the airbrush out and prime a bunch of stuff for a new build.  The next airbrush session will be to paint the final color(s) on things.   :)

Have a great one!

Morning, all.

Getting a late start.  The wife left for Boston to see the youngest at 0500.  The dog, who has separation anxiety issues, barked and whined for about 40 minutes.  I was then able to fall back to sleep.  I was going to mow today, but it will need to dry out first.

Good Morning All,

Another late start today. Have a haircut appointment in about 90 minutes and then something in the train room.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Mornin' all...

Coupla chores around the place and then up to the RR room.

Working on a practical way to re-power Suydam spring drive drive units.  They were great for continuous operation and during that 50's and 60's that was what we did; but they are poor for operations.

I'm working on a floor idea that uses two NWSL Stanton drives.  The days are about over of finding Tenshodo spuds on ebay for anything reasonable.  And most now have split axle gears that need to be replaced anyway.  They all tell you that it ran when they put it back in the box.

There was an expression by farmers who want to sell a tractor, "it ran when we parked it over there by the barn."
That's code for we pushed it over there ten years ago and the ground has since tried to swallow it up.  They know something that they don't want you to know until they see your greens.

So Stantons are a bit spendy but they can jerk stumps if you power both ends of the unit.  I have about seven or eight of them in operations now and they never act up and a one amp decoder can safely and dependably drive two motors in one trolley box motor.

see ya

Good afternoon! I have Grandpa duty today - stopped in while the little guy recharges his batteries. We spent the morning working on his trains. We had a great time - I was working way to many hours when my kids were this size!  I'm off to do some design work on my S&S RR Locomotive Works. I hope everyone has a great day.

So I got this power conversion done.

Two Stanton drives on a brass platform that goes into the Suydam superstructure with no modifications to the original model.   I store away the original drives so they can go back if anyone ever wanted to do that.

This will definitely win today's award for ....." It's ugly but it works ! ! ! "

I cut down an 50 year lilac bush in one day and it will take a month to get rid of the roots and branches at the curb; only 2 hours if I am willing to pay $20+ at the recycle centre.

Tom,

Wow, the paperwork for license renewal is assume; keeping America working.  ;D

We can do it on-line, just fill-in the form (one screen) pay your fees and 5 days later you get your new license (car tag or drivers).

Bob,

Ugly works for me.
