Hi all,

    Okay!, Let's talk:

So with all the youtube how to's, magazines, books, online forums, articles, Dvd's, videos, friends, local clubs, hobby shops, online specific technique websites, tools etc. out there to show, help or assist you with your modeling skills.

What part of modeling (anything) haven't you developed or learned how to do, to a level you need or wanted to be at now?

What do you need for help to learn or better assist you in achieving your self modeling goal?

I'm talking all of it or any part of it! Painting brass, plastic, wood, cast, gluing with glue marks, weathering of any materials, wiring, lighting, benchwork, layout design, structure building, photography, maintenance on engines, rollingstock, airbrushing, grit blasting, adding all wheel pickups, dry brushing, switches or motors or any part of modeling.

Please be honest! Help someone viewing by acknowledging what you need to better develop as a modeler wanting to be a better modeler.

Who knows? Maybe someone watching will write or make a new how to video on that subject?

The worst skill in modeling is not developing all your modeling skills!

Trust me if you can do it yourself, the more you want to do it yourself. It makes $$ & sense.    Thanx Thom...

Hi all,

Of course I could use practice in every part of modeling, but right now For me! I would like to be a better photographer.

I spent a couple nichols on camera equipment over the years and I take at best ok pics & videos.

My Girl has a Iphone and takes perfect pics which get put into calendars.

How do I get the background to stay in focus with the foreground? Thanx Thom...

You need to use the smallest aperture your camera lens will allow, e.g. f/16 or f/22.  That will increase the exposure time, so you'll want a tripod if the exposures work out to more than 1/30 (of a second).  Here's a good site on model railroad photography:  http

Dave,
Thanks for the tip site.  I saved it & will peruse it.  For now I do set the f-stop to f/16, f/22 up to f/32.  The exposure timing might be where I'm going wrong. Hal gave me some expert tips saying the same.  I'll practice some more with depth.  Thanx Thom...

Say Dave what skill do you need or want to improve on? I'm sure others are tuned into what you have to say.

Jan,
A little more info here.  Do you mean a electrical train   or train electricals   or electrical wiring for trains

I could go on...  What are you wanting to improve, other than one's patience in guessing. ;D  Thanx Thom...

D~,
What is it you're wanting to do or try?  I'm sure me and about 300 others here will have plenty to screw you up on while learning.  We're all ears eyes.  Thanx Thom...

Um, all of the skills.
And Thom,
PLEASE DO NOT ruin another hour of my life with those gas tank and derivative photos. I was hoping I left all that kind of crap behind when I left The Hub of the Universe. So far, life has been much better out here on the rim.

When did box cars, or locos become multi color. At least he will be fashionable while working on his models...
