Layout Tours / My Indiana Layout - Part 2
September 11, 2021, 03:20:27 PM
I have not been keeping this post update, so I will start where I left off.  Keep in mind, what you see might not be there anymore.  I went through a lot of decisions and changes. So here goes:

I can't believe that's it has been so long since I've posted anything. It's even harder to believe that the layout hasn't progressed any further than it has; especially since I'm retired.

Well, for an update, I've defined the layout boundaries and heights by adding the fascia. There was going to be a highway overpass on the right hand corner; but I pulled the tunnel portal out of the mountain and re-plastered it. The switches on the left hand side are in an wired for future use. The big red switch turns off all power and 120 volt outlets to the layout. I liked the looks of a rocker switch so they turn on-and-off the sound effect systems that I have installed. The other set of rockers will control all of the lighting effects. The lone rocker is for the end of the line programming track. The slider switch is going to control the LED lighting.

Selling Kit... / FSM Barnstead Lumber kit for trade
September 12, 2018, 11:40:37 AM
I have a FSM kit Barnstead Lumber that I will not be using, I opted for the FOS E.W. Karker Saw & Planing Mill instead. The kit looks like everything is complete. I made the mistake of looking inside and now I can't get the box lid to sit all the way down...there is a lot of stuff in there.

I will trade for a comparable FSM or FOS kit or a KSWorkshop Cameron Street Apartments

Kit Building / Anyone build Campbell's Barrel Company
February 15, 2015, 10:54:19 AM
I like Campbell kits; and I decided to build the Richmond Barrel Factory. I tried and tried to make the corrugated material work; but I couldn't make it happen. So I basically started over and used Northeastern basswood and it looks like I'm going to make Rusty Stumps rich with all the cedar shingles that I'm using. Anyone have any luck with Campbell's corrugated material

I bought this kit new from CCK and since then, it has been retired. The roof shingle papers are twisted in some places; but the look better than they are. I would assume that Jeff would replace them; but I think they are good to go.
I will ship the kit for $180 with free shipping in the USA

Kit Building / Anyone built Campbell Engine House
August 03, 2014, 04:13:03 PM
I have Campbell Scale Models kit 389, Windy Gulch Engine House Kit in HO.  Has anyone built this kit...it's the one with the plastic(?) clear brick walls.  I've built the FSM two-stall engine house that looks good; but I made a few mistakes on it.  I'm kicking around the Campbell kit; but I am leery on painting the walls.  Kind of 50-50 right now...build it or sell it.  Any pictures of the completed kit would be great

Layout Tours / Re-post of my Indiana Layout
July 12, 2014, 01:32:47 PM
I was going to post a new picture into My Layout Tour folder: The G&D in Indiana.  The picture was a little to large, and I hit the modify post button.  I thought the next button I pushed was delete last entry; but I guess it said delete folder...any way; my layout tour folder is gone.  I am going to try to repost my accidentally deleted topic about my trials and errors (A lot of them) in building my first real layout
