Nails or Glue for Roadbed?

For my standard gauge track, I'm using caulk, spread thin with a notched spreader.  For the narrow gauge over top of the stainless steel PowerBase plates, I'm using Titebond III. 

Add:  The reason for Titebond III is that it's waterproof.  That way the glue isn't "melted" by water from doing scenery.
