Hi guys , off work for another 2 weeks in isolation so thought I'd jump into the Foss Landing build.

I started with the walls with nail holes and roughing the walls a bit but nail holes seemed to disappear following Bretts instructions.

Lynn,

Good start, I'll be following along. Are the walls a stain from Hunterline or something Brett came up with?

Lynn, I really like those walls already.  They really look weather-worn.

Good start Lynn,
I've build it the last past few month. For part of a very large dio (22x24) that is almost finish.
Unfortunately, in my kit, the walls of this building were cut in the wrong way, I've must to redo all of them.
for the rest, I've a lot of fun with this kit. Hope you have fun like me.

I tend to skip around a bit.
Going to get the doors done and out of the way , I do enjoy manipulating the Rembrant chalks with the alcohol.

I did an attempt to transfer the sign to the wood backing, I'll be the first to admit I don't like this kind of sign transfer.
I used 3M transfer tape to hold the 3 boards to glue them together. I then laid the sign over the front of the boards and taped it in place to burnish the sign to the wood. I think it actually came out pretty good.

Putting the windows together was actually not bad for being laser cut . It was the first time I tried using the dull coat, I like the results and will use it more often.
Throughout the kit Brett's instructions direct you to use floquil reefer white dabbing it on with a terry cloth.

Before going to bed , yes it took me along day to do all the windows, I managed to use the blacken it on a few pieces.

Also I painted the castings, black for those that represented a metal finish and Khaki for those that would be wood finish.

The next step for burnishing the large print to the tall end wall really stressed me out , it took several precautions so the paper itself couldn't move and really took my time transferring the lettering. The end result looked like it was pretty good but unfortunately Bretts instructions said to cut the transferred letters with a sharp blade , tried that and no way that was going to happen without letters lifting.

I dug out the airbrush and painted some kleenex with a grey as well as some paper for blinds. Also airbrushed the tarpaper roof .
Installed all the windows and doors.
