Kit Building / Challenge 2016
October 10, 2016, 05:55:27 PM
Somehow I don't think my challenge posts are showing up on the Forum.  To update, I have braced the walls and sprayed them with gray primer.  Next I will choose the colors.  Jim

Finally underway after some unscheduled delays.  I usually unpack all the materials to see what I am dealing with in terms of the various materials.  I have to admit that I initially don't read all the instructions; usually I skim to see if there is anything unusual.  More to follow in a day or two.  As you can see, I need to clean up some work space.

Dug into my stash and found this one. From the photo, you can probably tell I have numerous builds going on with Cundy Village. I am trying to finish up these before the Oct 1 challenge kickoff. Wish me luck!  Jim

I have an"O" scale maintenance shed kit from Sierra West Scale models that Brett Gallant provided at the workshop at the last EXPO. Since I model in HO I don't have a use for in.  He calls it Craftsman Kit University.  It is free to anyone  who can use it, please just pay for shipping. Pm me Jim

Dioramas / Roads
July 31, 2015, 10:02:23 AM
OK. Basic question about the correct width of urban, suburban and country roads for dioramas.  I suppose I could get out my tape measure however the way people drive around here I'd probably wind up in the hospital.  Thanks. Jim

Kit Building / Latest Project
December 15, 2014, 08:56:07 AM
This is my latest. Sweaty Betty' Diner from Bar Mills.  Not really that pleased with the outcome; I just had a hard time getting into it.  Also don't like that much stick on material.  No reflection on quality of kit.  Just me. Jim

Dioramas / Amish Wagons
August 25, 2014, 08:47:42 AM
Does anyone know of a source for Amish Wagons?  I wil be putiting together a section of layout depicting a small town in Lancaster PA where my wife's family lived.  I have not been able to locate anything from the usual sources.  Thanks. Jim

Kit Building / Irish Rose Antiques
July 30, 2014, 11:50:09 AM
Here are some pictures of the almost completed kit.  Still have to touch up and try and do the castings.  This Parkinson's thing is making it real hard to do fine detail work.  A little at a time.  Many thanks to Jimmy for the kit design, Tom for the very helpful building threat, Slim for lighting, Dave for this shingles, etc etc. Jim
