BTW, I believe that if you want to seal an object that's been weathered with chalks, there's a Krylon product called matte fixative that will do the job.  This is what artists use to seal pastel drawing and I usually find it in the paint department at Micheal's craft store.  The key difference is that the matte fixative doesn't attack chalk like dullcoat.     I remember reading this as an old "Dave Frary" tip.

The funny thing is I never seal the buildings either.

The Krylon sounds like a good idea. Like you, I know "I" won't be moving structures so no spray necessary here either.
