Morning all,
Nice and cool here this morning. Open house for all those interested in stopping by. The Judge, Greg, Curt and his dad are stopping by. Heck, I may even show up for the fun.
Yesterday I got all the Christmas outside lights out and up. Two Christmas trees are already up and lit. Tis the season ya know.

MRI news is that I will be having open heart surgery in November to replace the main Aortic Valve.
The bad news is that I haven't done any modeling in two days

Morning all,
The MRI went as planned. It was a 2.5 hour MRI. During the test the power went out but the emergency generator kick in immediately. Thank goodness they didn't loose any images or the test would have to be repeated.
Results will be on Tuesday afternoon.

Morning all,
Jim, very sorry to hear about Max. It is never easy we lost two within 30 days two years ago.
The scheduled MRI didn't happen yesterday. Some scheduling person sent the hospital all the necessary paper work except the Dr's order. So, it was rescheduled for today at 1:30 PM. Not to worry, I now have the Dr's order in my hot little hands for this one.
I got a few hours in on FOS' Pub Crawl yesterday. Hopefully I get a little more done today.

Kit Building / FOS' Pub Crawl Build

My next build for the north end of Tahope will be FOS's Pub Crawl. To my knowledge nobody has built this kit. I know Longhorncaddy's wife, Laura, built it for an NMRA contest and took 115 points. She won second place for her efforts. Laura never did a build thread.
I'm not sure when the kit was first released but there is a 2011 add for the 2011 Model railroader Expo in Peabody, Ma. in the box. I guess I've had it some 10+ years.
For a smaller kit there sure are lots of goodies in the box. I'm starting the thread now but won't actually be able to start the build for at least a few more days.
These first two photos were "borrowed" from FOS's site. Pub Crawl has four places for the railroad workers of the A&S RR to get some refreshing drinks after work.

Morning all,
Thank you all very much for the support on Tuesday's post. The messages and emails were very much appreciated.
The heart catherization didn't go as I hoped. I have an MRI scheduled now for September 30 to determine the actual damage to the heart. I was born with a two flap aortic valve instead of the normal three flap valve. This valve has become damaged through the years. This caused my heart to work harder over the years and the inner lining of heart has grown thick with muscle. Its like working your biceps, the more you work them the bigger muscles get.
So, the MRI will show whether I'll need just a stent to fix the problem or a double bypass.
I'll know more after the MRI in two weeks.
In the mean time, I have an empire to and structures to build.

I'll be off the forum for a few days as I will be going through some medical tests. Last month a routine EKG showed some Severe Tricuspid Aortic Valve Stenosis in my heart. Today I'm having a left and right heart catheterization with Iodine dye to see if all is well or other possible blockage is present.
This was very much a huge surprise as at 75, I've never been on any medication other than for the flu or Covid-19. Not now or have I ever had any indication there was a problem.
I guess I'm looking at some sort of stint of other procedure in the future depending on the test results. That doesn't scare me as much as having to go on some sort of life long medication. I've been fine for 75 years by not taking all the pharmaceutical meds folks my age have been taking for years. But hey, gotta do what ya gotta do to continue building the empire.
Anyway, I'll keep ya'll posted.

The Official F&SM Layout Thread! / Old F&SM Photos

While taking a break from the Atlantic and Southern RR. I came across an old CD with very old F&SM photos. The CD is dated 1988 and I have no idea where I got it or from whom.
I didn't take any of the 271 photos on the CD but I'll try to clean the color if possible.
Some may be repeats of what John and I posted to the official F&SM thread, I don't know for sure. However, many are of different angles or of areas and structures no longer on the F&SM layout.
I'll post them in the order they come on the CD.
