Just realized today I got the walls backwards , the stairs are suppose to descend to the door not the window side, oh well. :-[

I installed the two end freight doors after having to replace the framing, I put the wrong size leaving the doors flapping in the wind .

I went ahead and painted the second structure, first with Floquil Grime then Depot Buff along with thinner.

Tar paper roof is complete and ready to install and I painted the tar paper for the second structure flat roof.

Also painted the shingles for building 2 .

It's looking good so far.

Lynne,
You are doing a great job. Brett's kits are a challenge, and you have done well.

Thanks Karl and Ed.

A bit more progress, I made up the stairs and attached ,  installed second floor landing , prepped building 2 walls for the freight doors. Seems I misplaced one of my freight doors so looks like I will have to make one.

Looking great, Lynn.

Rest assured - you will find the misplaced freight door as soon as you finish making the new one!  I've been using unbleached titanium as my trim colour on my latest build.  It is along way further from white that reefer white, but when put against other colours looks really white.  I'm liking the results.

Cheers, Mark.

Thanks Mark, I think any white would do, by the time its toned down with chalks or A/I you really can't tell other than there is a hint of white.

Bit more progress today , kinda bouncing around.
I made up the backings for the building signs , I think Brett has a mistype in the legth to make one set.
I got setup for burnishing the signs, wasn't real happy with the results, don't dare try to brush them with chalks.
Before burnishing the signs to the walls I gave the walls a brushing of Aged Driftwood and then an A/I.
Oh yes and here's the new door made.

Doors and windows installed , not real happy with the sign lettering transfer .

Opa George

Lynn,

I've always had a love/hate relationship with dry-transfer lettering.  Fresh transfers can give really nice results, while old ones or those exposed to humidity can be miserable to work with.  In my salad days I could create very elaborate signs from sheets of even very small font dry-transfer letters.  Over the years they have held up well.

The application surface makes a world of difference.  Transfers onto plastic surfaces are easy. Wood is more challenging.

Thanks George there's definately a learning curve involved.

I got the sub base for building roof installed and tar paper for flat roof colored.
I've also started shingling the main roof and will post results soon.

Roof is shingled and needs a bit more weathering with chalks/Alc.
I found a way of trimming the shingles that works well to give a consistant trimmed line. I got a piece of wire and put a bit of 3M double side tape around it , stuck it to the roof line and used my flat nail clippers and followed the wire.
