Where is everyone? The coffee pot has been on for hours.  Guess I should make a fresh pot and put out some cookies to see if anyone will venture through the door.

I found the key in its usual place, under the mat.  Hard to believe no one unlocked the door earlier this morning.  Anyway, it's open now, though I will admit I made a pretty good dent in the coffee pot. I think I left enough for another cup or two.

I never did get back to grinding up leaves yesterday, probably because I spent more time outdoors enjoying the sunny day than I had originally planned.  Today's plan is to start cleaning the house, though I hope to squeeze in a little bench time, too.

The door is unlocked and the coffee is fresh.  Not so nice outside in my little corner of upstate NY.  It snowed overnight, and has now changed over to rain. Roads are wet and slushy, so I'm planning to stay home and continue trying to rough in the scenery on my layout.

Twenty two blustery degrees here this morning with wind chills in the teens.  Forecast calls for a high in the 20's.  I'm taking advantage of the below freezing temps to clean out and defrost my freezer.  Food is already in the garage, frost in the freezer is starting to melt.  Based on past experience, this is pretty much an all day job waiting for the ice buildup to melt completely. 

While that is going on (with lots of towels on the floor), I'm headed back into the layout room.

First up, a major disclaimer.  This is not a build thread.  I often seem incapable of taking a photo of each step, often skipping more than one before it dawns on me I failed to get the necessary shot. 

I'm also slipping in a couple photos of a Campbell newspaper office I built when the forum was non-existent.

I woke up to a white covering on the ground with more falling.   The highway department has been by plowing twice, and the road is white within a few minutes.  I'm hopeful the weather guessers are right and it will stop snowing late this morning.  I'll wait to plow when it stops...if it stops.

Anyway, doors are open and the coffee is on, come on in!

Coffee's done, let's get the party started!  Rainy day here in my corner of upstate NY, gray, foggy, and overcast to boot.  Then again, it beats shoveling the white stuff, so I'll take it.  I'm spending the day with my son, not sure exactly what we'll do, pretty sure it will be something indoors.

Snowed lightly overnight, we might have a couple inches on the ground.  Single digits outside this morning so the snow is glittering like diamonds.  Pretty, but BRRR!


Pretty obviously, I'll be spending much of my day inside.

It is a brisk 15 degrees outside, with wind chills in the teens.  It really didn't feel that cold to me when I went outside and my barn dwellers didn't seem fazed by it.


Baked some cookies yesterday and wrapped presents.  A tree always looks better with packages under it.

Snowy start to the day and it looks like there will eb periods of light snow throughout the day.  Seems like a good day to stay inside, model, and watch some football.

Welcome to a blustery start to the month, at least in my neck of the woods.  No snow this morning but slightly below freezing with a stiff wind and a wind chill of 20 degrees F. 


No modeling last night.  The gusty winds yesterday ended the day with a serious power outage (6000 customers) just after dinner.  I resorted to my kindle and flashlights for the duration.  My power came back in time to hit the sack.  Hopeful I will have better luck today.
