Morning all,

Halfway through my four-day work week!  One long meeting this morning though.  I'll be retiring at just about the right time.  They just declared that they want us to turn on our webcams when we present in meetings.  ::) I'll just avoid presenting for the next month or so. ;D

I'm itching to get back to the workbench.  Friday is coming.

Have a great one!

Morning all,

Another day, another dollar. :) Nothing on the workbench front to report.  Just plugging along waiting for a four-day weekend to arrive.  Then I'll have some time to spend at the workbench.

Have a great one!

Morning all,

Just another Monday in the office.  Well, at the dining room table anyway.  The dining room table my better half will be happy to have back come May.   ;)

Yesterday I cleaned off the workbench and cracked open a new kit.  There's a new build thread coming once I get far enough along to have something worthy of showing.

Have a great one!

Morning all,

Hmmm...."Wednesday the 13th".  That sounds like it has the makings of a really bad horror movie.

I need to mow the lawn over my lunch hour today.  I should clean out the gutters too.  Think I'll save that chore for Friday.  I have an extension with a curve at the end for my pressure washer.  That way I don't have to get up on a ladder.  It's messy though.  I'll get a shower in the process.

No workbench time until Friday. >:( I do hope to make up for my recent lack of progress this coming weekend.

Have a great one!

Morning all,

Just another workday.  Only six more Mondays to go.  Unless I accept the offer, I received last week to stick around longer or work part time beyond my retirement date.  I'm 95% sure my answer is going to be "Thanks, but no Thanks" on that one.

Nothing noteworthy to report from the workbench.  Last week's home renovation, along with the subsequent cleanup efforts, took me away from the workbench.

Have a great one!

Morning all,

The window installation is almost complete.  They're installed but waiting on the inspection.  After the inspection trim/molding will be added to complete the project.  Whew....now we're ready for the heavy rain.  It's much easier installing windows in HO scale structures.

Nothing to report on the workbench front.  No shock there.  Still working for a living but not for long.   ;)

Have a great one!

Morning all,

Last day of the work week for me.  Three-day weekend on tap.

I need to figure out the measurements for the base of the land portion of Red Hook Wharf and then cut some plywood and homosote for it.  Think I'll do that tomorrow while the better half is at work (her car won't be in the garage).  The concrete pad, with track embedded in it, will be an interesting challenge.  I have some ideas as to how I'm going to accomplish that.  Hope they work!

Have a great one!

Morning all,

Up and at 'em!  Just another day testing code, drafting documentation, etc., on this end.  Not too many of these days left though.  I have to start thinking about a daily schedule for when I don't have to log into work anymore.   ;)

Have a great one!

Morning all,

Another three-day weekend on tap after I get through today.  Can't wait.  Actually, I can't wait for the seven-day weekends to start.   ;)

Tomorrow will be a few chores around the house.  Maybe.  Plus, some workbench time.  Definitely.  I need to see if have everything I need to send off to my buddy who does my taxes.  If so, I'll package that up and mail it to him.

Have a great one!

Happy Valentines Day all,

We'll avoid the restaurants tonight.  My better half has some bacon wrapped filet mignons in the fridge and she'll whip up some mashed potatoes to go with them.

Nothing on the workbench front to report.  I have decided to go back and add the missing joists to the wharf.  That'll probably happen on Friday (I'm off again on Friday).

Have a great one!

Morning all,

Another day, another dollar.  I still haven't gotten off my butt and figured out what strip wood I need to order to replenish my stash.  Maybe I'll get that done this week.  But, for now, it's that working for a living stuff that's taking precedence.

Don't forget to get some chocolates for your sweetie.  Tomorrow is Valentines Day.

Have a great one!

Morning gang,

I'll open up today.  We're having a sausage & cheese omelet, grits along with a toasted English muffin.  There's a pot of Earl Gray Tea brewing.  Sorry coffee drinkers.  I don't do coffee.  You're on your own.

Just another workday on this end.  A few meetings this morning and I need to get started on writing some documentation.  Maybe some workbench time this evening.  I hope.

Have a great one!

Morning all,

Where is everybody?  I'm late and I still have to open up?  Forget breakfast, we'll serve lunch instead.  Beef n' Cheddar from Arby's.  ;)

Today's my Friday.  Three-day weekend coming up.  Workbench time tomorrow.  Just need to suffer through the rest of today.

Have a great one!

Okay. To kick off this new category what would be a good introductory 3d printer for a newbie? Pros? Cons? Help!  :o Software? YouTube videos?  ;)

Good morning all,

It's my Friday.  Three-day weekend coming up.  Tomorrow morning I'll be running to the vampire for lab work.  After that maybe a little yard work but definitely some work bench time!  Today, however, starts out with a long, boring meeting.  Then meetings in the afternoon as well.  Why can't I get my projects done?   ::)

Have a great one!

Morning all,

A chilly day here in the not so sunny lately Sunshine State.  41 degrees at the moment.  It should warm up later today and the rest of the week looks a little better.

Let's see, one long, boring, meeting scheduled for this morning.  I'll try to do something productive while not really listening to what's being covered.  One short, but somewhat meaningful meeting this afternoon.  I'm really not going to miss these meetings once I hang it up.

No workbench time last night.  I need twenty to thirty minutes to wrap up the little bar I'm currently working on.  I'm pleased with how it's turning out.

Have a great one!

Morning all,

Sigh...back to work after a nice, four-day weekend.  I managed to get a lot done at the workbench.  I'm close to wrapping up structure 8 of 8 on Red Hook Wharf.  A few more minutes on that one and it'll be done.  Still a bit to do, however.  Building the wharf itself and mounting structures on it.  Building a crane.  Plus making a base for the land-based structures.

It's my Friday!  A four-day weekend ahead.  ;D Definitely some workbench time tomorrow after I take care of a few odds and ends.  For now, however, I just have to suffer through another workday.

Morning all,

How about we start the day with a right proper English Breakfast?  Sausages, back bacon, eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, fried bread, and beans?  A spot of tea, English Breakfast of course, to boot.

Nothing to report on the workbench front.  Unfortunately.

I recently started reading Patrick Stewarts memoir, "Making it So". I'm still in his early years. He pointed out that he's a "Trainspotter". He loves trains and, as a child at least, loved finding a spot near the tracks to watch them go.  The thrill was spotting a 'named' locomotive (most were numbered but some had names). Fun stuff.

Morning all,

I have to get used to typing 2024.  I nailed the first one of the year in the subject line.  I'm sure I'll screw it up somewhere along the line.

I did get some workbench time in over the weekend.  I finished structure number 7 of 8 in the Red Hook Wharf kit and started on the final structure.  Still a bit of work to do on that one but the end is in sight.

Have a great one!
