Good Morning Dave and all who follow. Dave for whatever reason the photos did not open up.

Yesterday I met up with my daughter and son-in-law to watch Deb race with her dragon boat team. The boat is made up of breast cancer survivors and they take it pretty serious while having a good time. Her boat came in 3rd overall out of 18 boats and the other boat of her team won 1st. I think that is the best finish I have seen them achieve since Deb joined four years ago.

Today I hope to finish up lighting and planting the clothing factory on the layout then it will be time to clean up the mess I have made of my workbench. Hope everyone has a great Sunday and hope to have pictures soon of factory.

I am at a local lake watching my wife compete In dragon boat races. She is really into it. My daughter and her husband has joined me so we are having a great day.

Good Evening Folks;

A very late check in for me but wanted to say hello to everyone. I have been plodding forward on my Debra's Designs of Distinction (known to to employees as triple D). I have almost all structure parts done and on the model. Still need to make a fire escape stairwell but that should do it. I finished all remaining windows and balance of electrical today. I'll hook up everything tomorrow and should have some photos in a day or two.

I'm glad I have the modeling hobby these days, physically last couple of months have not been the best but what the heck, could be worse too. Reminds me of the old si-fi movie about a robot called 5. I still remember laughing at the line '5's alive, no disassemble. Now I say it about myself. I'll get some photos up soon..

Good Morning Everyone;

Here in Florida we did not see much, at least I did not, seemed sunny all day. Yesterday I was able to get some electrical work done on the clothing factory and hope to make more progress this afternoon. Yesterday I took the Boss to the movies where she suffered through Dune 2. I read all these books so was interested in seeing how the movie compared. I liked it so I guess I am still a Si-Fi nut. I treated her to a nice dinner out so hopefully that made up for her coming.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Jeff;

I just had a chance to catch up on your project. Very interesting and educational. You explain things well and I learned a lot. The project is really coming along and looks great. Thanks for sharing.

Did I hear someone say coffee? I'm on my way! Sorry I have not stopped by for last few days. I have been able to get some scenery work started on layout but not much else. Today we pick up son and family who are visiting through Easter. Lots planned so not much train time. Well time to grab that coffee. Have a great day folks.

Good Morning Folks;

I posted a photo of a 1905 truck I finished yesterday on the Saturday chat. Boy was that a project. We are back from St Thomas, good to be home. Today we are going to a theatre show and meeting family so no modeling. Hope everyone has a great day.

Afternoon everyone.

We are back from our trip to St Thomas. It was a great trip until we got to the airport, had to go through customs and when asked if we bought jewelry we said yes but it was made here in US and so was not a dutiable item. So much for being truthful. I then had three idiots wearing US Customs uniforms tell me in ever louder voices the US Virgin Islands, while part of US, are not part of the customs exception area. Apparently they are good at talking but light on hearing because I tried to explain the regulation pertaining to 'Customs Zone' did not apply, custom duty is for foreign products entering the US and does not apply to US products made in US, not altered outside of US and then simply brought back to US. Much like cruise ships do with jewelry and paintings.  When I asked in a more forceful voice if they would simply allow me to finish a sentence the supervisor of the three said DO NOT RAISE YOUR VOICE AGAIN SIR. Apparently only they can talk over you. Anyhow after paying the ransom money, called the Effy jewelry store which issued a credit to us and said they would deal with Customs we were on our way.  Why is it that if a citizen is wrong we are told 'Ignorance of the Law is not a defense' but if a government employee is ignorant no problem.

Anyhow, I managed to finish the Inter-Action '1905 Commercial Vehicle Co. 6 1/2 ton Moving Van' today.  I've worked on this little guy off and on for about a year. It is by far the most, not sure what the right word is, perhaps nerve racking, kit I have ever worked on. my version is not anywhere as nicely built as their model photo but it was the best I could do and from a couple feet away it looks fine. Thought I would show you at its new home.

Good Morning;

More tax work this morning then wash the RV, my brother is going to use it this weekend and the pollen is all over the front and back. I am also beginning to work on the scenery part of the clothing factory. I hope to complete this build by next Friday. Hope everyone has a great day.

Thanks Jerry and Greg glad you like the progress.

With the main structure done I added lighting to all three floors. Since each floor is designed to come apart so the interior can be seen the wiring will run down the back corner be enclosed and have quick disconnects. I completed the ceiling lighting and here is how it looks. The front hallway lighting made a big difference in seeing details.The photo shows the light leaks which I fixed by applying gallery glass simulated lead, it is a gray color paste that dries to a rubbery finish. It is great for plugging light leaks. That's all till I complete the fire cases, outdoor signs, water tower and interior scenes.

Good Morning Folks;

Trying to catch up on everyone's posts this morning in sunny Florida. Looks like it is going to be a great day. I have some business investment work this morning then getting the RV oil change in afternoon. Also making slow progress on current building project so all good. Hope everyone has a great day.

Good Morning;

I have not checked in for a couple of days but all well at the Ponderosa.  Today I will get some chores done and then I am attempting to make a dozen chairs for the clothing factory. The prints came out great but getting them off their supports is proving tricky. Might need to redo the support design.
Hope everyone has a great day.
