Morning all,

The Miners Union Hall is looking good, Dave!

Off today.  I'm in the process of getting my paperwork organized to send to my buddy who does my taxes.  That'll take me a little while.  I like to make sure I have copies, or access to the stuff on-line, in case it gets lost in the mail.

Have a great one!

Morning all,

Last day of the work week for me.  Three-day weekend on tap.

I need to figure out the measurements for the base of the land portion of Red Hook Wharf and then cut some plywood and homosote for it.  Think I'll do that tomorrow while the better half is at work (her car won't be in the garage).  The concrete pad, with track embedded in it, will be an interesting challenge.  I have some ideas as to how I'm going to accomplish that.  Hope they work!

Have a great one!

Morning all,

Another day at work.  Another long meeting this morning.  No workbench time today.

Speaking of windows, I got a text yesterday that they have an opening and can bump up our installation to March 4th.  We only ordered them 19 months ago!

Have a great one!

Nice tip about the oils/mineral spirit wash.  I like using washes but, like you said, I found out that the A&I wash isn't very compatible with acrylics.  The paints I'm using these days are not bullet proof like Floquil (or even Polly Scale) was.

Morning all,

Up and at 'em!  Just another day testing code, drafting documentation, etc., on this end.  Not too many of these days left though.  I have to start thinking about a daily schedule for when I don't have to log into work anymore.   ;)

Have a great one!

Nicely done, Curt!  She'll look great on your layout.

Morning all,

I'm working today.  We do get the day off but as a 'floating holiday', so it accounts for one of the Friday's I've been taking off.

I got some workbench time in over the weekend.  Pretty much completed removing the cross braces I added to the wharf, installing the joists I missed the first go around, and reinstalling the cross braces.  A little dry brushing, adding some details here and there and then I can move on to doing something about the land-based structures.

Have a great one!

Those signs look really great, Jeff.

One of them looks very familiar.   ;D

Morning all,

Like Greg said, rainy day in not-so-sunny Florida.  The Daytona 500 has already been pushed to Monday and the forecast isn't too promising for tomorrow either.  Guess I'll spend the afternoon at the workbench.  It's either that or get my tax stuff together.   ::)

Have a great one!

Morning all,

I sure am glad I don't have tickets for the Daytona 500.   8)  I think I'll stay indoors this weekend and spend some time at the workbench.

Have a great one!

Happy Birthday Frank!

It's the start of a three-day weekend for me.  Breakfast first, then some workbench time.  Maybe a few minor chores around the house.  Still plugging away on Red Hook Wharf.  I'd really like to get to the finish line on that one so I can start a new build thread here.   ;)

Have a great one!

Morning all,

Another three-day weekend on tap after I get through today.  Can't wait.  Actually, I can't wait for the seven-day weekends to start.   ;)

Tomorrow will be a few chores around the house.  Maybe.  Plus, some workbench time.  Definitely.  I need to see if have everything I need to send off to my buddy who does my taxes.  If so, I'll package that up and mail it to him.

Have a great one!

Happy Valentines Day all,

We'll avoid the restaurants tonight.  My better half has some bacon wrapped filet mignons in the fridge and she'll whip up some mashed potatoes to go with them.

Nothing on the workbench front to report.  I have decided to go back and add the missing joists to the wharf.  That'll probably happen on Friday (I'm off again on Friday).

Have a great one!

That looks wonderful, Mike!  The structures and the sheep are spot on.  Keep the pictures coming.

Morning all,

Another day, another dollar.  I still haven't gotten off my butt and figured out what strip wood I need to order to replenish my stash.  Maybe I'll get that done this week.  But, for now, it's that working for a living stuff that's taking precedence.

Don't forget to get some chocolates for your sweetie.  Tomorrow is Valentines Day.

Have a great one!
