I think of how much storage this site uses after just a few years... I can't imagine how much storage RR-L must need after decades(?) of being online.

Glad to see this isn't the only website with problems!

Thank you all. It's time to enjoy the hobby.

All is well health-wise. Business has been beyond terrific. It's time for a change. If I didn't have to pay people to do this for me, it would be a different story. There are tough OSHA rules, insurance inspections, workers compensation payments, taxes, more taxes, then more taxes. Not to mention this isn't supposed to be a business. It was supposed to be a hobby. Something to keep me busy and stop me from watching daytime television. It got out of hand. Two employees and myself couldn't keep up.

Someone will take this business over and have fun, meet many of you, the people of the greatest hobby there is, and they will make money too. I look forward to watching Railroad Kits continue to grow under new leadership.

Doug Foscale & Mark MAP are heading up to my house next week. I have a new railroad to plan, space to build it, and time. Lots of time... after the morning talk shows and "The Price is Right" are over.

I'll also have more time to work on this forum!

It is with great dismay that I announce that Railroad Kits will be opening back up soon only to clear out our remaining inventory. After that, I will cease all operations. This includes FSM casting.

I'd love for the name & brand to continue. I have many, perhaps hundreds of Fine Scale Miniatures castings yet to release, Resin buildings and castings to Pine Canyon Scale Models. The rights to reproduce many of Sheepscott Scale Models biggest & best structure kits.

I am confident that this business can be a fun and profitable one for the right person.

GOOD MORNING!

I'm stumped guys. Tech support with a free software is virtually non-existent. I've received a lot of ideas, but none of them check out. The only sure way to fix it is convert the forum to another software, but I can almost guaranty that will break a lot of the code and things won't work well on past posts. Hopefully in the near future this forum's software will have an update that miraculously fixes a problem nobody can figure out. The big coders at SMF Forums admit there is a bug that effects iOS users periodically, but only on some forums.
This forum is huge. To start over is out of the question. I can only hope that those frustrated with the database errors stick with me.

Gotta get down to the basement. I'm doing a small show this weekend in Springfield, Massachusetts. Any word on George Sellios? Is he well enough for his annual open house tomorrow?

Good Morning Everyone.
I had to post this honor I received. I hate to gloat.  ;D I've been "Knighted" so-to-speak, by Jeff Grove. Many may desire to get this award, but few succeed. This proves to the naysayers that I am indeed someone of importance, something I've been telling everyone for years. Being a featured car in operations on Jeff's Western Maryland operation in the upper 1938 section is truly an honor I deserve.

Are your hotel reservations made yet?
I'm curious how many people are attending from the forum?

Sounds like the FineScale show is defunct.

Marty... We all want to do another EXPO. But time is short for us. We are all super busy. Defunct? I wouldn't say that. Hiatus is more like it.

Super Detailing / Re: What font is this?
« on: August 28, 2019, 08:13:49 AM »
rosyfft, it's a university font. Try searching for any college or athletic font like this:
https://www.1001freefonts.com/college-block-2.0.font
but there are a ton of variations.
Ralph's is about 10 minutes from me. In my younger days, my band played there. It's a live music club.JD
