Baggage Car - Daily Chat / VHS Railroad Tapes - Give Away
« on: March 07, 2021, 11:17:14 AM »
Morning ya'll,

I have 11 VHS tapes from Jim Miller's estate I'll give to the first person who sends me a PM or Email.

If you have a VHS player and want what is listed (free) + $21.90 USPS Priority Mail, then these are for you. They all fit in the Large USPS Priority Mail box.

Nine Pentrex VHS tapes.

1.   Steamtown Grand Opening
2.   Michigan Ore Lines
3.   Steam To Huntington
4.   Cass Scenic Railroad
5.   Steam Across America Volume 1 and 2
6.   Cumbres & Toltec with Rotary Snow Plow
7.   California Rotary Action
8.   Huntington Steam Celebration

9.    Herron Rail Video Grand Trunk Western
10.  Rio Grande Southern and White Pass & Yukon

I'll leave this post up for a few days. If no takers, they will go in file 13/trash!

The local historical society said they have to many VHS tapes now.

Vehicle Modeling / Mountain States Model Works 1940 Ford Rebuild
« on: March 02, 2021, 07:05:40 PM »
While waiting for the paint to dry on Grumpy's Cafe build, I came across this little 1940 Ford. It was in a box of Jim Miller's misc. railroad items. Jim glued it together but never painted it.

I have six of these unbuilt so I know it is a Mountain States model. The vehicle is actually a 1940 Ford Deluxe Coupe. The coupe was two doors and the sedan was four doors.

Since it was never painted, I'll paint it and use it on the A&S RR for Jim. Also, I'll need to "unglue" it and make it a kit once again.

Kit Building / KC's Workshop, Grumpy's Cafe - 2021 Build Challenge.
« on: January 01, 2021, 06:19:14 PM »
My choice for this year's challenge is a special kit by Kenny Crump of KC's Workshop. My build will be of Grumpy's Cafe.

It is Kenny's rendition of the Riff Raff Cafe on the F&SM. I believe Kenny still offers this kit upon request only. At least it is still on his site but I think they are SOLD OUT.

https://kcworkshop.com/products/by-request-fsm-tribute-grumpys-cafe-ho-scale

This is not a full kit, by design, as the kit comes with no instructions or casting like roof vents, etc. Footprint is approximately 3.5" X 5.5".

The photos of the kit were copied by me off Kenny's website. I added some brightness and contrast to the photos.
