Is it a pain in the butt to convert to DCC and can you point me in the right direction? I see you guys talked about it here and there But I honestly could use a push to start DCC before track is layed. Thanks Guy's ......Dennis

General Information / 2x4 or 1x4
« on: December 01, 2019, 04:28:02 PM »
Well,  I went to lowes today for some stuff and I looked at the lumber. 2x4x8 are $2.62 and 1x4x8 are $6.82 each what do you guys use for your layout? That's quite the difference if you building a good size layout? Thinking of 12x20 and was wondering what to use? Or rip 3/4 plywood? Dennis

Thank you John Siekirk !!!!!!!

I almost gave up. My wife and I was in a horrific accident that almost took both of us on May 2017. ( ) We both suffered, My wife broke her ankle and her knee in two places and wrist and had to get a plate installed, and she hit the windshield. Me I broke 10 ribs and damaged to my nerve in neck that control's my hearing and swallowing. I had 9 operations so far trying to keep my esophagus (stricture) tube from losing it's normal function. I had to sleep in my recliner because of ribs couldn't lay flat. Life has been a big struggle when both lose income at the same time. My children stepped up and took control and kept us in our house and I cant be anymore prouder. Well any way I was talking with John through here and John understands and I felt a great relief there's more to life then sitting around and suffering. I told John I was thinking of giving up on modeling. I called a guy and he looked over everything and said I'll give you $ 5,000 for the lot. I laughed and said I got over 30 kits of FSM AND SRMW'S ALONE NEVERMIND EVEYTHING ELSE!!! 20 plus totes full,But after talking to John and family I'm gonna try to get going after Christmas and start building. I'll never build all but I will build some. Thank you John and the men and woman here, Honestly this site helped me decide. Thank's Dennis
