Hello all,

I started this build on the other side! I'm moving it over here to finish this summer. I've invited those following me over there to join me here. I believe most of those folks are already here.

I need to refomat the photos for this forum thread prior to getting started.

Tis I, the ACL purple guy! I'd like to share with you a tour of my good friends Bill and Kris Cutler's layout. The layout was started some four yeares ago and the progress has been amazing to say the least. They have done more work on the layout than I have on my A&S over the past ten years. Many of you know my AS from the traveling frieght car on the other forum. Yes, my AS has been all over the place.

Back to Bill and Kris' Pennsy. It's a six level four track mainline of six miles West of Altoona including, Horseshoe Curve, Tunnel Hill, Glittzin(sp) and other surrounding areas. Like all of us, they had to be selective in the compression of the area. We have a good friend, Jon Shubert, who helped in the design of the layout.

I asked Bill if I could share his layout with ya'll in hopes that he and his lovely wife, Kris, will join the forum and respond to any comments or questions you may have.

I'll start you off with a few photos of their layout. Currently they are well into the scenery building of the layout. Bill maybe the builder, but make no mistake, Kris is the CEO of the scenery!

Not only is he asking way to much, he didn't even bother to dust it off for a better looking model.

Layout Tours / The Atlantic and Southern Build, Part 1
December 21, 2013, 09:23:16 AM
Well, I started the demo thread and have some stuff completed on the new layout. No trackwork but a large workbench area and crew lounge. When I figure out how to do the large photos I'll post them.

Also, I'll wait until the forum guys set the threads up so we can link our photos to the correct sentence instead of having all the photos  show up at the bottom of the post.

I thought it would be interesting to document the removal of my old layout. I don't think there has ever been a thread on removing a layout and all that is involved. I've certainly learned a few things in the process. I'll share them as I get more into the thread.

I have about three dozen photos to crop to start with and I'll be posting them soon.
