Dennis,
Besides some of the glues that have been mentioned already in this thread and have been used here too, add this to the list...been using Weldbond  for years.
It is a universal adhesive that bonds most anything. It is non-toxic, nonflammable and free of fumes. Give it a try.

I use Deluxe Materials Phatic Glue  for wood to wood , wood to plastic , very thin glue , easy to remove excess with a cotton swab, connects fast .
I love photo's, don't we all.

Ok... I'm the oddball of the group.  ;D

Over the years I've grown to like Aleen's Tacky Glue for just about every application.

I'll weigh in to say I use Titebond wood glue, Original strength, for wood to wood, plastic to wood, resin, and even metal to wood (as in chimney or vent castings, other castings).  I use a name brand liquid plastic cement, like Testors, for plastics.

Those two glues make up the great majority of my mucilaginous purposes! :)

I also have a .7 ounce tube of Loctite regular super glue that I have been using for over a year.  The tip never seems to clog. I have to occasionally chip away some solidified glue from the nozzle, but it keeps on going.  I use it for tiny, special jobs that require a super glue hold (wire metal guide wires) and etc.

For putting paper signs on buildings, I use Elmer's white glue thinned with water.

I backed away from Aileens Tacky Glue after an A/I stain dismantled a small wood structure.  I use both Tite-Bond and regular Elmers for wood/wood and paper/wood.  I've had good luck with Walthers Goo for wood/plastic, wood/metal and plastic/metal.

[edit] I also use MEK for styrene plastic.  I have a can of Weldon acrylic cement, but it contains methylene chloride so I only get it out for ABS and acrylic. It will bond styrene to acrylic.

I'm weird, I use Weldbond or Flamingo depending upon my mood.  I'll use Canopy glue for window glass.  All three of these are in small needle tip applicators.  Then there is Goo, pliobond and E6000 for non porous applications.  I'll use typical plastic glues for whatever plastic I come across, ACC on non porous applications where I need a quick bond.
