Friday, April 10
« on: April 10, 2020, 07:07:13 AM »
Wow!  One third of the way through April already.

With retirement only a week or so old, already the days have lost their "feel."  I like it and recommend it highly.

Clouds and sun here, winds and more rain coming later in SE PA. I'm afraid that will be the end of a lot of flowers on trees.  Our magnolia, somewhat shielded from the sun, blooms later than others here and right now is full of flowers in peak bloom.  Fearful the weather will rust them.  OK for engines and cars, not flowers.

Stay smart everyone in regards to protecting yourselves. After a couple of weeks with quarantines and limitations,  others will feel it their right to get out and inevitably start the merry-go-round again. For any among us dealing with the virus, best wishes and hopes for your, or their, speedy recovery.

Morning all,

For those of us on the wrong side of retirement....T.G.I.F!  Remember those days Blazeman?  ;D

At 3 o'clock today we're having a Quarantini Time! meeting.  A virtual cocktail hour.  Turn on our webcams, have a drink and chat about anything but work.  ;)  After that my weekend starts in earnest.

I had an odd thought this morning.  When I do finally go back to the office how do I maintain social distancing in the elevators which are always packed full of people?  Go one at a time?   :P  I can take the stairs down but going up is another story.... :o

Have a great one!

I recall "Fridays," Bob.  Usually the toughest day of the week.  My vocation was transportation for a chemical company, and invariably, around 2:30 Friday afternoon, a call from one business or another, usually the latex group, would come in pleading "we got some short notice orders and can't get trucks to move them."  Our official corporate response, rightfully, would be "your problem is our challenge; we'll try to help."

Hello again all.  Just realized it is Good Friday for those who observe.  Fasting for some of us.

Morning. Read an email this morning that the NMRA cancelled their convention in St. Louis this summer. Didn't think anything was worse then the Springfield Crud..

Good morning.

I awoke to a covering of white on the ground.  Blustery wind and most of my cows (and all the calves) hanging out in the barn.  Huh?  I thought it was April when I went to bed.  Did I lose a month or did I just miss summer?   Not sure if I should mow my lawn or plow it...  I know, I'll stay inside and model.

Bob,
This is the first time I've heard of "one way stairs".  Is that a Florida thing?   ;D ;D ;D

Good morning! Like Jerry, we woke up to a white covering of snow. The temperature is 50 degrees colder than it was, yesterday. Or was that two days ago, they are definitely running together. I'm escaping to my miniature world where it's always warm and fall lasts forever.  I hope everyone has a great day, and stay safe.

Has anyone heard any news about the Narrow Gauge Convention, also scheduled for St. Louis in September?

Morning,

Boy, it was windy last night! Worked on fixing a rusty sprue on our cast iron waste pipe. Just like modelling.

;D  ;D  ;D Actually I think it's more of a software development thing.  Sit in a cubicle all day long for years on end and eventually you can only go down the stairs.  Not up them.   :P

Even going down the stairs has become dangerous.  I stopped using the hand rails shortly before the stay at home order was issued.  I don't know if falling down the stairs and breaking my neck would have counted as a COVID-19 related death.   :o
