Saturday June 13
« on: June 13, 2020, 06:53:56 AM »
Me again?

Hi all.  Shaping up to be gorgeous in SE PA.  Slept with the window open and the fan pulling in cool air.  Was 66 in the room when I got out of the rack.

Don't know if contractor will be here today.   Hate being left hanging.

Combo celebration today for Father's Day and #1 son's birthday, both a week early (beat the crowd and he's going away next weekend).  We'll patronize an establishment in Conshohocken with outdoor service.

All of you have a nice day, stay safe and smart.

Larry

Good morning! Very cool here this morning (39 degrees). :o   The furnace was running last night. More outside chores on the agenda today. The plan is to get back to some modeling tomorrow. Bob I hope your doing okay.  Ladders are not for anyone our age - there are a lot of young guys that need work for those jobs. I hope everyone has a great day.

Morning all,

Sorry to hear of Bob's ladder fall. I cleaned my gutters out on Wednesday morning. Although I didn't fall, being 8 feet up and pulling a water hose around was a bit tricksie. I quit putting up roof edge Christmas lights several years ago.

Spending the day with Pam in Mt. Dora. Back to trains tomorrow.

Have a safe day ya'll.

Good Morning All,

Was up a lot last night from reflux. I'm beginning to think I'm getting it from cooked tomatoes. Hope Bob is OK.  Getting ready to start painting bracing this morning.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Slowly healing, but it's going to take a month or so before I can get next door.  Meaning, no modeling for a while.

Morning all,

Thanks for all the well wishes after my ladder incident the other day.  I think I'd better heed Larry's advice and have my ladder taken away.   ;)  It's a good thing the Saturday Butty Group doesn't have a foot race today.  I'd come in dead last for sure.   ;D  The cuts and scrapes are healing.  I did learn one important lesson yesterday.  After using chalks for weathering I clean up my cutting mat by wetting a paper towel with some 90% Isopropyl Alcohol and wiping it down.  Well.....that 90% Isopropyl Alcohol can soak right through a band aid and into a cut/scrape real quick and boy does that sting!  :o

I'll spend my day at the workbench today.  I'm putting the final touches on The Wacthers Apartments before I light it up.  The final touches will take a few sessions though.  Every time I look I see more little details that should be added.   ;D

Have a great one!

Morning,
Bob, hope you are better soon after that ladder fall...just cleaned out the gutters here 2 weeks ago...and turning 72 this fall...so may have to get those sectional things replaced and have the leaf guards installed this year. Think I will just stay on the ground and have a snack...note I did fall off a short step stool backwards doing wall paper several years back and was pretty sore after hitting a concrete floor in my daughters store for a few weeks...

Sorry to hear of your fall Bob. My family operates a tree company in NY, so I grew up climbing. A few years ago, I casually hopped up a tree with my chainsaw to just clean up a few things. Little by little, I found more and more to "touch up". All of a sudden I found myself 20 feet above my roof, no ropes,  and had quite the epiphany - "you fall, you die". I didn't fall, but I never forgot that thunderbolt of reality. Now I'm just gutters, holiday lights, and low branches (Palms here, remember) but I'm always thinking of that moment. Hope nothing serious Bob...it's not that we are unable or unwilling to do things anymore (in my case including skateboarding, juijitsu, mountain biking...) it's just that the healing process is different, so the stakes are higher.

Anyway, going to try to post some pics today as I have a lot of progress on an area I'm scenicking...John
