Jimmy...
It is with great sadness that I write this.  I hope this is not over health issues.  If so....  I wish you all the  best.

Either way............... all the best...

Thanx for being the glue that held us together for so long.

Say it ain't so, Joe! (Or Sir James as the case might be).
A major blow to the hobby and I echo the hopes that it's not health related. Will miss your smiling countenance at the major shows and watching your family grow up.
What are the plans for this site?
All the best.

Jimmy,

I am very sorry to hear this news. You have contributed greatly to many of us around the country. You will be greatly missed. i hope that someone steps up to the plate and buys your businesses. It would be a shame to see everything you have done for the hobby just disappear. This is a wonderful hobby and it is too bad that so many hobby shops, manufacturers and contributors are disappearing, for what ever reason. I wish you all the best in whatever you do in the future.

Thank you all. It's time to enjoy the hobby.

All is well health-wise. Business has been beyond terrific. It's time for a change. If I didn't have to pay people to do this for me, it would be a different story. There are tough OSHA rules, insurance inspections, workers compensation payments, taxes, more taxes, then more taxes. Not to mention this isn't supposed to be a business. It was supposed to be a hobby. Something to keep me busy and stop me from watching daytime television. It got out of hand. Two employees and myself couldn't keep up.

Someone will take this business over and have fun, meet many of you, the people of the greatest hobby there is, and they will make money too. I look forward to watching Railroad Kits continue to grow under new leadership.

Doug Foscale & Mark MAP are heading up to my house next week. I have a new railroad to plan, space to build it, and time. Lots of time... after the morning talk shows and "The Price is Right" are over.

I'll also have more time to work on this forum!

To be honest, it's a tremendous relief to hear this was not a health-related move.  I suspect I wasn't alone in fearing that was the case.

Good luck with the new layout.

Great to hear you are okay! I know it will be great to get your hobby back and I hope you find a great new home for your business. I also, look forward to you making the forum even better.  It has become a great resource for our hobby. A great place to store all the tips and techniques we all like to reference.  I can't tell you how many times I have revisited a thread to remember how I or one of our fellow forum members did something. I want to wish you good luck and safe travels in what ever direction you choose to go.

Whew! Not health related.
Now to reality. Have you thought of getting a large (several large) truck and getting the he!! out of the over-taxed, over-regulated Peoples Republic of Massachusetts?
There are greener pastures awaiting.

Glad to hear that your doing OK Jimmy.  You had me worried to say the least.

I wish you all the best moving forward.  And I can't wait to see your new layout.  I am sure that it will be pretty inspirational to all of us!
