Good plan to burn vacation rather than try to cash it out.  Just before I retired, my company changed its policy to limit the amount you could cash out at termination.  I said, "OK, I'm starting vacation tomorrow."

(Actually, what happened is they told me "Our policy is 'no cash out'".  I replied "Oh, yeah, when was that policy announced?"  There was an embarrassed silence.  Then they sent out a new policy statement and told me I was grandfathered under the previous restrictions that was limited to 2 weeks.  I could have sued them in small claims for an easy win, and they knew it!  The law in Virginia was easy to summarize.  "A company is not required to have written policies.  But if they do, they are required to follow them.")

In 35 years of working, the only HR person who actually helped employees was almost fired for that.  Instead, they hired a boss to supervise him to make sure he wasn't being too helpful.

Dave:  I always referred to the HR directors where I worked as "Dr. No."  That always was their answer: NO!.

If you could actually get a decision from them, you were doing better than I did....

Not sure who asked the question awhile back regarding primer for resin kits....I've been using the Westley's Bleche-White for cleaning the resin pieces before starting any assembly - this stuff really cleans put wear gloves - it is very tough on skin. Assemble as usual - now for paint prep all you have to deal with is the usual skin oils from handling so you can clean with a normal dish washing soap....For primer I have switched from the tried and true Dupli-Color automotive primer to the Tamiya #87064 Fine Grey Primer (180ml). The stuff runs about 11.00 a can on Ebay but it usually covers in one coat so you can do several car with one can....hope that helps.
