While checking my stash of kits, I found this little kit lurking in the cupboard. I think it will look nice on the "Caldwell Junction" layout that I am building on the forum. Here are the pictures of the kit before I get started. The structure it self still stands at West Lebanon, New Hampshire in the remnants of the old Westboro Yard of the Boston & Maine.

Thanks Curt, Greg and Karl. Bob this is one of kits by White River Structures that Railroad Kits bought out. It is a big and complicated kit  and it was selling at just $34.00. I cannot see how any profit could be made at that price. The walls are laser cut by Northeastern, there is a bag of sand from Arizona Rock & Mineral Co. and a beautiful chimney from Mr Plaster Products besides a slew of scale wood and other details.

Thanks Lynn and Tom.
Continuing............I identified all the walls and lettered them on the reverse before painting them grey. I then distressed the walls adding nail holes and a little A&E.

madharry

Continuing...............There is a bunch of timber in different sizes to be added to the outside of several walls. I dunked the lot in A&E and allowed them to dry.

The tall chimney was first painted with a concrete colour with a little white spirit added to allow the paint to flow into the gaps between the bricks. This was allowed to dry for 24 hours before dry brushing with a brick colour.

Looking good, Mike.

Looks like you're off and running with this one.

Cheers, Mark.

Looks good, thinning the concrete colour paint worked out well .
