Hi Karl,

From the pics, the rust seems a bit intense.  You may want to tone it down a bit if you can.

Hi All:

Got A lot of pain in the neck work finished today. Kit calls for plywood but I used black Board with foam core.

Karl,

Looking great. The black foam board will certainly make the diorama much lighter.

Hi All:

This will be going on the shelf for a few days as Doug asked me to build the new background kit Murdock Fasteners.

Got a little more work done on this one. Added the rest of the concrete trestle walls.

Hi All:

Got the rest of the trestle walls installed and my 2 gravel piles per the instructions. They are dark as they are not dry yet.

How did you do the piles?  Is there a former underneath the gravel?

Hi Dave:

Yes there is a former under the gravel. It is A wet plaster mound. I put a scoop of wet spackling between the piers with a teaspoon and the shaped them with a popsicle stick. The the gravel was applied. After that Straight Rubbing alcohol was applied and then Woodland Scenics scenic cement was applied over that. Then A light dusting of more earth and other scenic materials.
