Donato,

I have a friend who refers to his wife as "one who must be obeyed". I wouldn't go that far, but that is just my humble opinion. I thought that this pic that I poster earlier really gives you a feeling of the size of the layout. I need to take more of these. And yes, that is Tom ACL 1504 hopper and George Sellios' Hopper on the train on the right. Enjoy.

Karl,

Thank you for your kind words. Still have a pretty good area to complete. There will be a huge steel mill complex and two cities that are back to back. I'm taking a brief break and will get back to it soon. All I can say is WHEW. Glad everyone is enjoying the pics.

Congratulations Frank.  I'm sure Lou's spread will be worthy of all the hard work you put into the layout.  Pardon the delay is my reply.  I've been on vacation.  Phil

Good Morning Phil,

Hope you had a wonderful vacation. I have been on a bit of a hiatus since the photo shoot. I felt like all the air in my balloon was quickly escaping and I was flying around the room, only to land very tired. I have been in the room, but have accomplished very little. Plenty of house projects to work on that I had put off for several months. I am starting to get back into it, but at a much slower pace. I'll probably be back at full speed later in the month. After all, I still have quite a bit to do.
Now I just have to wait for the pics and article to be printed. In the meantime, back to the layout.

Good Morning James,

Sorry to take so long to get back to this thread. As you know, i was working on two buildings for ACL1504. Now that they are done, I am back in the train room working on the layout. To answer your comment, Model Railroader does not tell you when the article will be published. As I was told, they are trying to get into the publication within 2 years. Since I asked to be in Great Model Railroads, it could be longer. We will just have to wait and be surprised.

In the meantime, a friend recently purchased two SRMW kits. I really liked a portion of Streeter's and Clear Brook, so he has graciously given me the kit to build Streeter's. In turn, I will build Clear Brook for his club layout. Sweet. Now, due to the design of the building and the location where I want to place it, I am building Streeter's in reverse. A bit of a challenge and several parts have had to be cut to achieve the end result. I will be building the structure and mounting it on a series of foam blocks, the integrating it into the layout position, scenery and all. I am quite a ways along on the build. Most of the structure as you will see in the two photos is complete. Part of the front facade needs completion, signage, and lots of details remain.  As many of you know, i really like the work of Bob Van Gelder, having several of his buildings on my layout.

Well, back to the structure. Have a great day.

Hi Frank.....I visited Tom's last week and got to see your build in person. What a wonderful job you did and such an interesting looking structure. It looks great on the A&S and I can't wait to see in planted in its scene.  8)

Isn't about time for you to get back to work on your empire.....enough of the slacking.  ;D
