I've attached (hopefully) links to a series of videos of the Atlantic & Southern filmed yesterday by a friend of mine Bill Fagan. It gives an interesting, tied together view of the A&S. We've seen all the construction photos and brief clips of action on the A&S, but these put it all together.
Bill has a Youtube channel with a lot of other interesting layout tours when you need a break from your own efforts.
If this makes it, enjoy.

Baggage Car - Daily Chat / 'Tis the Season
« on: December 12, 2017, 06:04:57 PM »
For many of us, we're approaching a very special time of year and a special time in our lives.
Some of my fondest memories are rooted in things that took place over this holiday season. Lots of us can remember the first Lionel train set or that special gift from A. C. Gilbert. My brother and i had a way of rooting out what my parents were "surprising" us with related to trains before Christmas morning. Their hiding places weren't very original or challenging. Maybe that came from living in a small house. But it was always Lionel O gauge. My wife, God bless her, has also managed to come up with some HO surprises over the years. They're all down stairs waiting for "The Empire".
So, folks, what are some of your Yuletide train memories? And who do you remember as being influential in your hobby pursuits then and now? Personally, I'm thankful for the posters I've met here and the inspiration you've all become.
Seasons greetings and let's have at it!  :)

Enjoy what ever is on your task list.

It's 6:10 AM, folks!
Time's a wastin'.
The smoking lamp is lit in all authorized spaces.
Unpacking continues around a miserable babysitting schedule, but what as to be done, has to be done.
Hope all of you enjoy your day.

Baggage Car - Daily Chat / Tuesday, June 13th

"Friday the 13th done come on Tuesday this month", to paraphrase Albert the alligator in Pogo. Does anyone else remember Pogo? Great stuff that ended way too early.
We now own a basement with a house attached. Our long struggle ended yesterday and a new phase started. We're to find out today when the moving van is to arrive and when the fun can begin. My major task now is to make sure the unobstructed basement STAYS that way. I see a battle coming, but I've got to protect my hard fought for turf.
Enjoy whatever it is you're up to today and don't forget to smile.

Baggage Car - Daily Chat / Whatever Saturday you want to make it

Passing through. Up early to attend an NMRA meet, then pick up the long absent Mrs. S. and prep for tomorrow's birthday party for oldest grand daughter.
Gotta' run, folks. Stay cool and build something today!  ;D
Oh yeah, the long wait is over Monday.

Come on sleepy heads!
Since I'm up to drive to the airport, you should be up doing something constructive also. Time's a wastin'.
Have a truly wonderful Friday.

Baggage Car - Daily Chat / It's Thursday and it's June 1st

Not that my advice is worth all that much, but I recommend against drinking a large iced tea mid afternoon while on steroids for a massive poison ivy bout. Wonder what time the crash will occur today? Three hours of sleep won't get you much.
Had some time yesterday afternoon between medications to really look over the Forum. I'm impressed with the work of so many talented modelers posted here and happy to see new arrivals displaying their work.
To paraphrase Mark Twain, I think the oft discussed demise of the hobby is mere rumor.
Have a super day, all.

"Help me".
You have all been very patient and supportive throughout my move/relocation travails and for that I thank you.
One of my requirements from the git/go has been a large, unobstructed basement surrounded by a house. Realizing that nothing in life is perfect (except some of the posters here), we are seeing a home that has no tomorrow that has no basement, but a VERY large finished second floor loft area. The down side is it is carpeted, but otherwise completely finished.
I don't have dimensions yet but it looks "doable". My question is, without boring you folks, can you coach me through building a reduced empire in such a space? All the dirty work has to be done in a seasonal garage and taken upstairs to install. But, who has worked around/through building out in a finished space?
Unless the Gods move quickly and find me a basement, it looks as if my multi-state coal hauling mega-route may be reduced to an industrial switching empire.
Thanks in advance.

2017 Marches on!
Back to whatever is reality today.
Hope the sun shines where you are and that all your modeling efforts go well.

Well, it looks as if the retirees have taken over the joint.
6:55 AM and I'm opening? Either that, or I missed a great night for sleeping.
More "stuffing the boxes" today. I'll wager you're as tired of reading that as I am of doing it, but life goes on.
Enjoy whatever you engage in today.

Happy Final Debate Day! At last!
Glad the rest of you aren't suffering from insomnia. It makes late afternoon packing and cleaning a real chore.
Have a peachy, keen day, folks.  ::)

Ran across this link on another site.

Great to know our hobby is helping others.

Baggage Car - Daily Chat / September 1st. A Thursday

Finally signed the P&S on the condo yesterday!  :) :) :)
Now, the next adventure begins. Off to eastern Pennsylvania this AM to find a place to build a new railroad. Not like there's no inspiration for one in the region, right ReadingBob?
Stay safe all.
