Get well soon Tom.

Here's another one from Europe to cheer you up. One of the best modular club layouts I've ever seen. The backdrops were painted by one of the members daughter, they look fantastic, blending in to each scene so well. I'll show more of this layout the coming days.

Good afternoon, getting sick of being sick, so I am going back to work tomorrow , it's better then feeling sick at home.

Typical exhibition layout, small , switching layout depicting a small piece of a prototype railroad.

Most of the buildings scratch built to match the prototype.

I bought my super trees from a decorations material wholesale, a 60 liter box , more then enough for 600 trees for around 50 dollars. It's called seamoss or seafoam , official name Teloxys aristata.

John , I have seen more then one person leaving the buds on ( I am having a dejavu feeling about this question ) , is it necessary to take them off ?

I'll be spraypainting them dark gray , after I boil them in glycerine. Maybe I can boil them in glycerine with gray or black pigment , worth a try, or has someone done that already and found out it doesn't work?

Thanks Mike , what did you dilute the glycerine with and did you straighten them using the glycerine or another way?

Good afternoon, stayed home from work today, coughing 3/4's of the time is not good for work, will be okay in a few days.

Eurospoor 2017 in Utrecht was a delight this year , plenty of great layouts to be seen.

This was at a large train show , about 20.000 visitors. I think europe is more into smaller scales and when someone is into large scale it's probably LGB which is far less toy like ( no offense meant ).

Good afternoon , same here Tom , coughing , sneezing and just not feeling well. Went to the spa this morning  hoping that would do me some good but it's only gotten worse. Back home now , I think I'll watch some TV and maybe work a bit on the layout.

Last week at Eurospoor I saw Lionel trains for the 1st time for real.

I tried the steam method for straightening out the tree and it worked pretty well. (saw it on youtube) you basically pass the tree over a kettle of water with the spout held open..... I never did do the glycerin soak, but did dip them in some watered down matte medium ( mod podge).

Yes , saw that steam method on youtube too, so it works , might as well try that too then.  Thanks.
