Good Morning All,

I'm home again today with some sort of feverish crud. I'm feeling a little better but still sweating and chills. Yesterday, my joints were aching but today (so far) things may be on the upswing.

Cool pictures Jeff.

My friend does whole house generators and he quoted me about 10k including the natural gas setup (which we don't have in place). The house is about 2700 feet for reference. For any of you in Central FL, PM me and I'll give you his info...he's been doing it for years.

Lots of trains on the brain, but Irma and the fever have me back in the weeds. Have a great day!

Tremendous work John! Am I to surmise that you will assemble those decks before staining/treating the wood? I thought that was a no-no, doesn't the glue potentially resist or at least alter the stain? (or do you just not apply it with a roller-like me ;D )

Looks great Karl, as always. I'd hate for you to pull out all those tiny nails-I say keep em. ;)

Wow. That's great in every way... the facia frames it nicely.

I'm looking forward to more views Leo. One thing I think the magazines get wrong is the lack of at least a couple of panoramic views. I certainly enjoy the closeups and track level views, but I also like to get the view that I would as a visitor. The ones where you get a sense of what it's like to be in the room.

Great stuff!

Mr and Mrs Caddy have teased us with small tastes of their outstanding work. I'm excited to see more of their layout here.

Morning All,

I was thrilled to return to my "non-layout" home to see that my son had picked up the yard (not a small task), took down ALL of the storm shutters AND put them all in the garage attic! Good man.

This morning, I have to present my case in front of 50 people in the ER at a local hospital. I'll relax when that's done. :o If it goes well, I see a new engine in my future ;) .

Glad everyone seems OK post-Irma and otherwise. Have a good'un

thanks...I ordered them online. We did them all over our home and I found them to be a little less expensive, Box stores only had a couple of colors. Endless options online. I'm really happy with them (in the windows too). No cords, they hold their position, etc.

Morning All,

Irma's gone and it's back to the grind. Have to get an early start as I'm starting my day at the coastal Layout house. Good train progress on my stay-cation but could have been a lot more without Irma butting in.

Have a good day!

All good here in FL. Power back on in both locations. We took some damage on our dock, but boat and house and people and pets are A-okay! Thanks for the well wishes. Was a long, rough night but everything held up.

Good eye, Loren, and thanks. I guess I really need to organize my next steps...I have a bad habit of impulse building and skipping steps which leads to back pedaling later. Still firming up my vision for scenic plans. Next...

-gotta get with my backdrop guy soon. I don't want to get too far without that or it'll be 2x tougher
I'm still not certain how I'll handle the end. Probably just elevate the scenery/trees/Dead Horse
Bay to minimize the end of the backdrop. The plan is high rocky elevation ala Foscale.
-insert ties into track joint areas and paint turnouts...good time to dry brush ties & scrub all the rail
-wire up switchable siding blocks (off/on toggles)
-plan and install lower facia (with front contours) and install block toggles and throttle panel
-plan interior lighting "drops" (handful of buildings)
-start on foam landforms for foregrounds and coastline

2 kits to build- SW woodcutter's and Seaport Capt Hook Lobster (have reserved spots -along with Fos'
Dead Horse Bay, which has some premium Oceanfront real estate reserved)

Just thinking out loud...John

Cool. Looks like a variation of "Sellios' Usetabe Red".  ;)
