Hi Kimberly:

I will add my WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! to your work. Very nicely done.  Recently I've been building FSM kits (My first ones) that belong to a friend for his future layout.

I started building craftsman structure kits back in the mid to late 70's on a bet that I couldn't do it from Another modeler and very good friend. They weren't anything like they are now.

Your colors are very nicely done and your weathering is very well done. Looks like you have dry-brushing down pretty well. Please post more of your work. I'm sure I will learn something new.

Anything I can do to help just let me know OK. And Of-Course welcome to the forum. Keep-Em coming.

Karl

PS:-----Emporium seafood is also one of my favorite FSM Kits. Built one years ago for a friend. I'm also very interested in your scratchbuilt lighthouse. I have several lighthouse kits.

Here is one of my favorite websites and I think you will also enjoy it. Maybe you can find a lighthouse to scratch build here. www.us-lighthouses.com Has all the lighthouse in the us listed by state.

Hi Kimberly:

Just talked to George Sellios. He and I are very good friends. He told me to tell you your model is one of the best jobs he's seen on that kit. Loves your coloring and especially your weathering & scenery. That's a compliment you just can't beat. Good show Girl.

And another WOW from me, as well, Kim.

I don't usually check this sub forum, so missed your pics until now. Excellent craftsmanship.

And welcome to the forum.

Wow! Karl please thank George for his compliments! He has always been a strong inspiration in technique and striving for realism in every kit I build. I think we can all agree that he is one of the legends of the model railroad community and will go down as one of the most inspirational artists of our time.  Kimberly :)

Nicely done Kimberly! I finally mustered up the courage to open one of those yellow boxes (Hazen Boyd).

Hopefully mine can look as good as your FSM effort!

Thanks for the close ups, Kimberly.

You're right - that fence has come up a treat.  I especially like the plank in two broken pieces - very convincing.  Your concrete retaining wall is outstanding as well.

Looking forward to your next diorama.  Is the base to be round?  Doug has done a tremendous job of leading the eye into the focal points on that diorama.  Check out the way the shape of the land just naturally leads your eye right in there.  One of my favourite dioramas.  I spent ages at the expo in Scranton just standing there watching it go around and around!

You might find Troel's little video very helpful for your water.

Cheers, Mark.

Hi Karl!  With the summer vacation time working against me, progress has slowed a bit on the Emporium Seafood project I am currently working on. I am almost finished with the main building complex and am trying to decide which type of shingles to use on the one structure that has shingle siding. I may have to do two versions and see which I like best. Campbell shingles are good, but I wanted to try something that might be more like what you might see in a coastal area - grayed shake shingles seemed like they would fit nicely. I got some Bar Mills to try. I'll try to get some photos together soon to show my progress.
I'm still here, working on it when I can. The heat does not help either! Just broke the century mark in the last couple of days here in Southern Oregon.  8)
Posting pics soon!
Kimberly
