They are great fun and not so hard to build , Candy will do magic with this one.
Merry Christmas. Will enjoy watching and kibitzing. I'm glad your finger apparently has healed- be wary of sharp #11 blades!
Cool, I have this kit and I have put in on the back burner too long
THANKS FOR WATCHING !!!
Finger is a bit stiff and sore but I can still build stuff. I've seen this kit in other colors but it looks it's best as shown in the picture. I will paint it with Ceramcoat paint. I will use 02440 Bridgeport Grey and for the trim I will use 02483 Azure Blue.
Watching!
HI RANDEE !
Hiya Candy! Are you coming to Scranton with some of your models???
I will also be following your build.

I will have to see if I'm up to it. I haven't been well these last two years but I'm slowing improving
Candy I'm watching ! I've always liked the look of this one.
I'll be following along also..... :)
I'm working on the inner lobby wall this morning. Pictures will come later
The inner lobby wall can be seen from the outside so that's why it was included. I want to add more to it. I want to make a nice lobby scene. I will try anyway.
Candy............
Great stuff............. good to see you back.
see ya

Candy,
I'm following along as well. I really like the lobby wall. Great job!
Tom ;D
I wanna check out them comin' attractions posters a little closer, just to see if the Majestic is switchin' to
dirty movies!!
"The Outlaw" is just the first step!! ;D ;D ;D
OK, serussly - this kit is lookin' fantastic!!!!
Keep up the great work and ignore us kibitzers.
We're just jealous cause we can't compare with your buildin' skills!!! :( :( :(
WOW ! Hello everyone :) The frames for the posters I painted gold. They look beautiful but the camera can't pick it up.
I'm bracing the walls so I can paint them. I don't know if I have enough wood to brace all the walls. I might have to get more on Monday.

A monstrous task to improve on perfection! ;D
Love vintage movie posters. Nice job on the lobby wall! Just might pick this kit up for Centerville.
Thank you everyone. I love this place
Oooo Candy, this will be a fun one to watch.
Candy - Your inner lobby idea is slick! Enjoying watching the progress. Jim
I'm gluing the walls together. Pictures in about an hour
Progress pictures. Painting the frame is next
About time!!
I had to fill my glass while I was waitin' for your glue to dry.
Now, it's about empty again - must have a leak in it.
Oh, well - refill time while waitin' on your paint to dry next!
The sacrifices we make for you!!!
Your doing a great job Candy, I really like the lobby. Keep the pictures coming.
Sam
Neat work. Great corners.
Painted the shell this evening. Painted, Bridgeport grey. Two coats and it's perfect! Pictures soon. I'm working on the windows
Hi Candy:
Glad to see your building kits. Looks good sofar. Keep the photos coming.
Karl
paint, windows and some doors
Turquoise/blue and gray are in this year, I see. Jaime is using the same colors on his SRMW build.

This is not Turquoise , it's Candy Blue , don't you recognize it Dave ;)
I'm working on the ticket booth. I didn't like the idea that the booth was empty. You could see the grey siding in the back where the door should be so I printed out a back wall and glued it in. I like it !!!! What a difference. Here is my simple back wall.
Laser-Art has several mistakes on this page. There are two step pictures labeled 3A. Step 3C is the second 3A and Step picture 3C should be 5A

Is that kinda the reverse of waxin' your legs?? :-[ :-[ :-[
Yes it is ...and then some :)
The Majestic sign is very delicate. I wanted it to go into the slots without any resistance so I cut a strip of sandpaper and widened the slots. It worked very well. Not much more to go. I must finish the outside entrance and do the roof.
VERY nice!
Looks great, Candy. Nice color scheme.
Jeff
THANKS !!!
Great looking theater , and that blue is exactly the right color.
Well I messed up the stairs. I glued the small stringer in the wrong place. I can't put in the steps! What do I do now ?

Can you start over?
Jaime
Candy...
It depends on what glue you used and what sort of paint on the exterior.
If you used yellow or white glue this is really easy. If you use super glue it is a bit tougher.
If the stringer is not painted it is easy to remove. If it is painted take a xActo blade and scrape off the paint. Then with a small brush wet the stringer with 70 % or 90 % alcohol repeatedly until the stringer soaks up the alcohol for time. 90 is better if you have it.
After it soaks up for a time get under it with a fresh xActo blade and work it off. Then put a small amount of alcohol on the clap board siding and clean each bat with a sharp blade. Allow to dry thoroughly and start over.
If it is super glue you will need to abandon the stringer board by carving it off. If the kit is of current production you might contact the manufacturer for a replacement part.
If you can't find any stringer stuff let me know as I have a bunch that was made up on a laser cutter by a local modeler. They are made of some stuff called backer board which is not wood but if you are painting it in the end it doesn't matter.
I can throw a few in an envelope and send them to you.
Let me know

Bob
Thanks for the tips. I figured I'd best contact Branchline Trains. They say they have most parts in stock. I emailed them today. All I need is Small trim sheet #2 and if I'm careful I can start over.
Candy just getting caught up on this one. Very nice and perfect coloring.
I'm sure you can fix that problem with all the help you received.
Jerry
Candy ...
If they can't turn around your request in the next few days let me know and I'll send you some stringers.

Thanks Bob! I'll let you know. Good thing is, we are both in the same state and about 25 mile apart. Should get it quickly.
Hi candy:
Looks good so far. I agree with Bob. What he said should work. If you mess up the piece just make a new railing from wood.
Karl
Walt at Rusty Stumps has GREAT stuff for stairs, including a slick resin stringer jig. He ships FAST! Give him a call.🚑
Candy ain't got time for stairs on this cold day - she's busy rummagin' for her wool knickers!! ;D ;D ;D
It was 2 degrees this morning but I'm allergic to wool
I managed to get the stringer off without breaking it, but in doing so, I broke the railing. I guess I can build a new railing. It wasn't to scale anyway.

I've got one of those stair stringers and it really does work great. To me, it is a "must have" if more staircases are to be built for future models.... And Walt at Rusty Stumps really does ship fast, and he has some cool stuff, too....

Candy sounds like she is having the same kind of problem as I am with the deck and stairs with Wicked Wanda's. The parts are just to small and fragile for me. Jim
Here's an idea to strengthen outside stair casing.
Consider making an extension off of the building foundation that might look like a concrete pad or wooden base if you are using wooden sidewalks. Either way it offers a solid base to hook stuff to and it fits in with the larger planting of the structure when done.

Bob
I use small pinking shears I found in the scrap booking department to cut stair stringers.

Good idea, Bob :)
Well I have fixed my stairway. I did a fair job but I am happy with it.
I think this kit is a good one. But the necessity to make an inside wall is dubious. The only way you can see inside is to light the inside. And even then it's hard to see anything.
Stairs came out great.
Jaime
Candy......
Great building..........
Regarding the interior........... it's the principle of the thing......... not whether anyone else can see in there.

As far as lighting and interiors go I'm sure you already know that one begets the other. The real charm of the theater would be lighting the marquee, theater sign and box office.
The only thing that has me scratching my head would be all the windows on the second floor. I can see maybe one small window on the side wall where the stairway is (for an office) but the projection booth shouldn't have any windows. But hey - the kit designer can use his/her creative license any way they want. Not a bad looking kit and you did a nice job building it..
-slim
Very nice job on that. I built that theater about two or three years ago and used the same colors you did, but mine didn't turn out as nice as yours.
Great job
Sam
Very well done.
Tom ;D
Nice job on the stairs. Proper pitch and all!
I don't like the "pinking shears" idea because you end up with 45ยบ stairs which are completely wrong.
A nice looking building.

Great build Candy , I have one in N-scale laying around somewhere , hope I can get it to look as good as yours.
Thank you all !!!!! I had fun building it. I know where it will go but that part isn't built yet. So sometime in the near future I will be back with more pictures of my theater.
Quit complimentin' her so much - she knows how to build good models!!!
She just needs some of her elders on here to tell her stories about: (stealin' from a post on that 'Other Forum' that won't let me trick it to sign on again).
I was a Captain Kangaroo fan: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captain_Kangaroo (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captain_Kangaroo) I thought the Captain was a lot more interesting, and liked his guests/co-stars, particularly Grandfather Clock (http://kitforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&p=292874#). dave
