Title: CCK Cape Fear Sawmill
Post by: MAP on January 20, 2015, 07:56:21 PM
I picked this little gem up from Groovy Jeff a while ago, and figured I'd give it a go.  This won't be a full blown build, but like my other posts more of a keep my butt in gear by posting progress photos now and then.  First off is a picture of the box & contents, and the usual bunches of clamps that I use.  Comments are always welcome.

You guys actually watch my builds?  Ack!!  Just kidding.  Thanks for following along.  I'll be doing some A&I (or Hunterline) washes tonight, which I let sit for a day before doing anything else paint-wise to the wood.

You need some more of those colorful springy clamps.

Slim, you're only seeing 2 walls.  There wasn't enough room in the picture to put all the walls there with all of the colorful springy clamps that I actually used!

Here's a quick update.  The first photo is the first wash using Hunterline Blue/Gray solution.  After it dried I sponged on Quaker Gray craft paint.  After that dried I again used a sponge to add in some Cool White.  That's it for now.  I need to get ready to head to Springfield!

hhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...my mantra has always been "one can never have too many clamps"....I may want to rethink that. This is bordering on overkill. ;D ;D ;D ;D

Randee, you obviously haven't seen some of my other builds  ;D....this show of clamps is a mere pittance of what I USUALLY use  :o!  I'm going to be picking up another tub of 50 from MicroMark when they have a sale!

Mark....

You need to model in a larger scale so you can get more clamps wrapped around that wall.

I do know however that in 1 to 1 stuff there is a high demand for clamps in woodworking.

see ya
