That is very nice of you to invite him, but you may want to have a few fire extinguishers strategically placed around the layout before he gets there.  ;D

Great job with the scenes, but don't be stingy with the pictures...

Robert,
I had the privilege to visit your layout a couple (three?) years ago.  You have accomplished so much since I visited, and this latest expansion is shaping up to be awesome!  I love the "up front" location you have chosen for that beautiful station Frank built.  I am looking forward to more photos of the latest expansion!

Robert,

Just got back on the forum and noticed you posted some more pictures of your layout and the station. I recognized the location right away. Thank you for putting it such a wonderful place. Now I want to see it in person, but I'm going to have to wait. Keep posting more pictures as you work on the scene. The relationship of the station and hotel are perfect. Seeing the station makes me want to start on the next one - for my layout. I made enough parts for three. yours, mine and my neighbor's. I am working on Chester where my station will go and have a couple of builds to complete the town.  I'll post some pics once I get started on station #2. In the meantime, keep up the beautiful work. I hope everyone enjoys the building.

Happy New Year to you and your family.

All the best,

Frank / Erieman

Frank

As I promised if would have a awesome spot!!!

Also for all to know the hotel has a special meaning to me.

It is in honor of my father Art Seckler who passed away in April of this year.

I had a rough time w/ his passing and did not model for 2 months or so!!

When I finally got back into modeling ,I decided I wanted my first model to be in my fathers memory.

He and my mother loved B & B so Art's Hotel

So this for him!!

Rest in Peace DAD!!!

Very sorry to hear of the passing of your dad. I lost mine in the summer of 2011 and think of him every day!

The location for the station seems the perfect spot. Art's Place is fantastic looking and the perfect location fit as well.

Robert,

The Ft. Edwards station looks great. Nice location. Like the buildings around it. The street view looks very, very good. Hope everyone likes the building. I will soon be starting my version of the station. I have about four more buildings to add to the town of Chester, then it is some scenery, lots of trees and it will be done. Keep up  the great work my friend.

The Fox Mill Running looks really fantastic in that spot. Heck, it looked really fantastic in the box traveling North. I've never seen a Reading Bob structure I didn't like. He is the master of structures.

However, I do want to thank you for all your hard work in the contest room and participation in making the EXPO a great experience for us all.

Thanks for the nice comments on my build.  That was the first time I did a diorama using that material for the concrete streets.  Before I used it on Fox Run I experimented with it on a piece of GatorBoard and documented it in this thread: Arizona Rock and Mineral Co. - Concrete Paving Material (http://modelersforum.com/index.php?topic=820.0).  I'm sure there's a lot of tips and tricks about using this stuff that I haven't learned yet.   :D

I still have to experiment with their Asphalt Paving Material.  I have some but haven't tried it yet.

"All work and no play makes jack a dull boy". you need to smell the roses and spend more time on your layout. The station position looks great. I'm considering on going to Amherst either 2016 or 2017 and I will make sure that I get up to see the progress on your layout. hopefully, MR will have printed the continuing saga of the D&H. All,
Here is new harbor area in expansion on the layout
And first design it was 2 buildings and a couple of ships
My good friend Doug got me going with the original Salt Neck 2 to start
We then decided it should have a car float, then we added another 2x4 feet to end of peninsula
It will be very similar to Red Hook pier in Brooklyn
Enjoy

Sam,

Thanks

Will you be entering it in EXPO contest room??
Robert,  Your new harbor is starting to look awesome, good idea about the car float.
No I won't be entering anything this year in the contest room, maybe next year.
Keep us informed on the new harbor

Robert,

I love the Whalen Avaries structure. I have the FOS kit but have yet to get it built. Like Cuse said, the green roofed one is good as well. Great job.

We all love structures and pictures.

Here are a couple of pictures of new city
Also here is a new lighthouse that will mark harbor entrance

That looks great. Is the whole base for the lighthouse hand carved (stones too)? I want to do stuff just like that on my new layout. I want to elevate structures all over the place to create engineering challenges and interest throughout...really nice work!

Is your layout going to be on the EXPO tour?

Nice buildings, but I wouldn't dare put them that close to the layout edge.

John, I doubt his layout will be on an organized Expo tour, because he's about 3.5 hours drive from Danvers, MA.

If you are traveling by car on Sunday afternoon this way,we should be back from EXPO

...no problem Robert....Sam, it is Mispillion Lighthouse, now sold exclusively though Bruce at www.seaportmodelworks.com   that is a very popular lighthouse, small, compact, with lots of character....worth mentioning is the white building in the background of pic 3....Murchison's....another VERY popular waterfront structure....this is my waterfront scene in design phase.....Robert, I'll send you pics of the freight building soon, holler at me if you get to it before I get the pictures to you......

And yes Sokols is a cool/beefy building.
Second time i built it.
First time it was to overpowering in area on my ( Brothers-town) so I gave it to my good friend George M.
When I start this new section it was really urban and a perfect fit, a must have.

Good Morning Robert,

Not idle hands on your railroad. I enjoyed the recent issue of MR and thank you for including my station in the article once again. Where do find the time to get all this done? Lou did another spectacular job. How long ago did he do the photo shoot? I'm going to wait at least another year for mine because I asked that it be in Great Model Railroads. Now it is time to work on the large steel mill complex and finish the city before he comes back. I have asked him if he would be a guest speaker at our regional NMRA convention in the fall of 2019. Keep up the beautiful work. Try to get a group together to come to Amherst, but not having much luck because most don't want to experience snow and cold.

All the best to you and your family.

In the large city (on the elevated part with the tracks beneath)- which kit did you use for the square building with the large water tower on top of it?
Everything looks so good- great to see the layout featured in the latest MR! Congratulations!
