Eric Québec city
Hi Eric:
Good to hear from you. Thanks appreciate the compliment.
Karl
Great build Karl.
John
Hi Cuse:
thanks for the compliment. Got a little more done last night. built one of the billboards. I changed the sign to one of my favorites from my collection. the castings on the top are from SS ltd and are leftovers from my Wales Junction billboard kits.
Karl
Great build Karl!
Tom ;D
Hi Tom:
thanks appreciate your compliment. Billboards are finished. Here's photos. Art Fahie made the Scholz Billboard (the Postal Workers Choice) for me some years ago. I thought I'd use it here.
Karl
Karl
This build is looking great - I can't believe how fast you are getting with these builds.
Hi John:
Thanks appreciate your compliment.
Karl
Fabulous Karl. An old school kit by an old school builder- the best combination for a great model. Is the lucky friend who gets this anyone we know?
Also- any chance you could share the "Scholz Beer" sign so that we can have a "national" billboard campaign? 8)
Hi Mike:
thanks for the Compliment.
Here are a few progress photos. Roof details and front side walk are d0ne.
Hi All:
Here's where I am with this one. 1st building is finished and I'm working on the walkway between it and the next building. 1st building is not glued to the base per instruction as I want to be able to adjust the two buildings and the walk way. Here's a so far photo.
Karl
Such great work! I like white Mike said- lets push Sholtz Beer!
Bob C.
Hi Bob C.
Thanks for the compliment. Much appreciated.
Karl
Hi Karl,
Built this great kit when it first came out some years ago. It now takes center stage in my now completed
town of Tacoma. Am following along to see how you might alter the look and placement. And yes, I love
those signs.
John
Hi John:
Thanks for the compliment. Glad you like the signs. How about some photos of yours on the layout. Just post them here.
Karl
Hi All:
Walls for the 2nd building are assembled. On to building it. Here's a photo.
Karl
Karl,
Nice job on the tavern build !
Looking forward to seeing the other buildings completed that go along with this kit.
Any chance I can order a case of Scholz Beer ?
Tom
Hi Tom:
Thanks for the compliment. I ran out of Scholz Beer. Sorry. Here's a photo of 2nd building with stucco added. Let me know what you think guys OK.
Thanks:
Karl
Looking great, Karl. What are you using for stucco? I've found a textured spray paint that's worked really well.
Hi Dave K.
Thanks. Was it this stuff. This is what I used. I think its for painting your outside furniture. It has grit in it.
Karl
That's the stuff, Karl. 👍
Gotta give that a try .... thanks guys.
Hi All:
Got A little more done today. Added windows, doors and the steer to the walls.
Here's a photo.
Karl
Looks great, Karl!
I always enjoy watching your builds come together. This is one of my favorite FSM builds, although having said that there are so many which are favorites! Brodie's is a beaut! It has wonderful lines. Beautiful work as always.
Cheers, mark.
Hi Mark:

Karl
Hi All:
here's a few progress photos. Platform and platform canopy are finished. have the side stairwell to do and this building will be finished.
Karl
Looking good Karl!
Hi John:
Thanks buddy appreciate your comment.
Karl
Great job Karl. That's a really nice blending of textures/media/surfaces (what's the right word?). I really love the shingled walls and the roof color best.
John
Hi John:
Thanks for the compliment. The Roof Color Is Model Masters SAC Bomber Green (A military color). I use It a lot as it is a nice mellow green color. Also use Wal Mart flat red primer. Almost an exact match for Floquil Zinc Chromate Primer. The shingles are, I think, Campbell Scale Models. I really like them as the look great when you lift and weather them. They Are painted Floquil Earth, A&I wash And dry-brushed with Floquil Antique White.
Side Stair well is next. Then this building will be finsihed. Then I have to build the abandoned shed that goes between it and the tavern. Then I shall glue to the base and do scenery around these two buildings.
Karl
Karl,
The colour scheme is amazing; I think it is worth copying someday.
Hi Martin:
Glad you like the colors. They are the ones George suggest except for the stairwell. He used gray and I used Zinc Chromate primer by Floquil.
Karl
HI All:
Opps forgot to take photo of stairwell. All I can say is don't get old. Will do it this afternoon.
karl
Hi All:
The 2nd building is finished. Next is the abandoned shed between them and then they get glued down and scenery gets put in.
Karl
Wonderful work Karl.
Great job Karl!

Karl
Hi All:

Karl
Hi All:
Started the Bootlegger's Boot co. This one will also so be quite a bit of work. Here's where I am on it so far.
Karl
Karl,
Looking good. Not crazy about the vine on the back but like everthing else. Keep up the great work.
Frank
Hi Frank and rest of the guys:
Thanks. The vine was there so I put it in. What it needs is some of the same color on the ground to blend it in.
I decided to finish one of the Bootleggar's wall to see how they would look. I chose the left wall as it had the sign and more detail. Here's a Photo let me know what you think OK.
Karl
Hi All:
Got 2 walls finished and assembled. Hope they look OK.
Karl
More then OK Karl, way more.
Hi Jan:
Thanks really appreciate the comment.
Karl
Bootleggers looks great, Karl!
Nice colours and lots of interest.
Cheers, Mark.
Hi Mark:
Thanks appreciate your comment. Have 3 walls done for the 3rd building. It's somewhat time consuming because of all the shingle work.
Karl
Hi All:
Here's a few progress shots. 3 walls for 3rd building are finished. I'm working on the rear wall now.
Karl
Hi All:
All the walls are built and assembled. Working on sidewalks, stairs, canopy over door and the roof. maybe a photo this afternoon.
Karl
Beautiful work as always, Karl! I love the variety of textures - that's a feature that can be overdone, IMO. However, George always seems to nail it!
John
Hi John:
Appreciate your complement. I really like George's Kits also and you are right he always gets the textures down really well. He told me this particular kit sold out in 2 or 3 weeks. It is a great kit becasue of all the details. I have very much enjoyed building it so far. I'm building it for a friend and I'll probably get another after this one.
Karl
Hi All:
Here's a few fun photos. Some years ago I scratch built the retail building for Bootlegger's Shoes and turned into a cafe. I placed it on the model I'm building just for fun to see how it would look. Here's a few photos.
Karl
Great looking Cafe, the sign is awesome.
I love the cafe. I'm a sucker for shingled walls!
John
Hi Jan:
Thanks for the compliment. Glad you like the sign. The frog a button from the ladies store. Joann Fabrics probably. I have others also. Fish, stars and I believe anchors.
