Title: My scratchbuilt mining scene
Post by: barrymk on December 07, 2015, 10:31:02 AM
I've ben beavering away at the mining scene end of the layout and it's almost complete.  At left is my old model of Malcolm Furlow's Saratoga Mine, to the righti s the Lady Wendy Mine and miner's accommodation, both are abandoned and falling down. This mine is named after the present Mrs K.  I think she gets the joke!

Thankyuo one and all, I'm currently greening up the scene a bit and I have an ore tramway built but awaiting tramlines that will go on the Furlow mine.

A fair bit of time and work have have passed and I've finally finished my mining scene.  The Furlow inspired Saratoga Mine has now got its tramway and tipple. The tipple and its delivery chute was a bit of a challenge but fun to build. Here are a couple of photos of the result.  Much more information on my little blog  http://cuspidorsouthernrr.blogspot.co.uk/ (http://modelersforum.com/http://cuspidorsouthernrr.blogspot.co.uk/)

I didn't realize we posted one right after another funny.  But in a good way.

Still a great scene.

Barry do you have any pictures of the build as you went along?

You're very welcome. Model railroading in the Rockies keeps me out of trouble....
