This has been called the Hukill or the Maude Munroe Mine.
My version will be called the Lost Mine.
I'm using the plans from Clear Creek Engineering drawn by Don Griffin. The set is 8 pages of drawings of the mine and out buildings.
I made a jig so I could keep the top/bottom and sides square. After putting those pieces together and adding the long diagonal pieces. I moved it to the drawing to add the support pieces.
The outside bents are the same all the inside bents are different because the way they sit against the footing for the headframe.
Wood has been grained then one coat of Silverwood then after drying using Rembrandt pastels 409.7 Burnt Umber and 411.7 Burnt Sienna with alcohol stained the wood.
Actually the mine was a bright orange but in O-Scale it just didn't look right.
The footing in the picture was drawn by my friend Marty Jones. Then he had it 3d printed at the school were he works. Thank you Marty.
This is where I'm at now. I have been doing the front and sides hopefully pictures of the complete bin by weeks end.
Comments always welcome.

The siding is on the back wall. The left side under the shed roof gets tar papered.
Actually the rest of the building gets tar paper.
I just made a jig for the 7 windows I need to make small tilt out is what the plans call for.
Now that my surgery is done I might be able to make better progress.
Thanks you all for following along.

Thanks guys for looking in on me. its appreciated.
Working on the second bent now. Hopefully will have it done by the weeks end.
Once again tank you.
Jerry
Another update.
The three bents are done on one side they need to be filled in on the two sides facing you. The truss rods are in on these sides.
These are the tracks that lower the bucket and men into the shaft they are made out of .060 x .060 angle and .010 x .040 styrene and sprayed with grimy black.
They will be straight when glue in place in side the bents.
Jerry
You are moving right along - looking good.
Thanks John glad you look in.
Jerry
Just an update of the track added to the bents. thought I better take a picture of them before the other cross pieces go on.
After that they be hardly be seen in there.

Thanks for stopping by. That's the pictures I've been using to do the mine. I got the plans from Clear Creek Engineering.

Jerry, A well built structure. If it's the "lost mine" wouldn't it show its age more? Or since it is lost we could not see it since it was lost? :-)
Well Marty at one time it was lost.
Really have no idea why I named it the lost mine!! ;D
I image some day it will be lost again!!
Jerry
