Title: Sylvan D-400 Cab and Chassis...Calling Capt'n RAYMO.... Conversion Ideas Needed

Calling on the Vehicle God Raymo and all of you with any good conversion ideas for the Sylvan  1937-41 International D-400 Cab & Chassis.

Since the Jordan Line of Vehicles are in a state of flux with the passing of the owner (maybe Tichy will pick up the molds???), I thought I would try my hand at coming up with a conversion kit for some of the Sylvan line of models to give more variety to the body styles available. Of course I will be asking Clare if he is good with me wrecking his models!!

If anyone has a unique idea for a body this model, post it here and I can give it a go.  Here are a few to think about that I like so far.  I have seen others, but they look very similar to the ones that Sylvan already does.

That first picture you posted is sort of different. I have also seen pic's of these old cab overs with a back hoe mounted on it.

Sorry Darryl , I'm just getting around to checking my phone. Definitely the streamlined body like the Olympia beer truck. I've been trying to find photos of an older plate glass truck that would work on a Sylvan cab & chassis. Give me a couple days to see what I can find.

As they still are today, truck frame rails were a relatively standardized thing.  Put a pair of four by six wooden beams on the rails and nearly any work body, open or closed, can be bolted down and made to work.

With that I think a fair starting idea would be a stake rack of varied length.  A single kit could be offered with enough segments to make the work bed to varied length: eight, ten, or twelve feet in length.

Darryl,

Doing a search on Instagram of #coe, #coetruck, #coetrucks will give a pretty broad range of pics. A lot of new conversions and hot rods, but some old trucks as well.

Similar to Matt's find....

Put Coe trucks into google and then select images near the top. 

All sorts of stuff come up and you can select and photo and it will refine off of that.   

Be prepared for some really cool stuff.

A couple more photos of an International COE. It would probably be easier to use kit #V-149 and remove the 5th wheel
