HI everyone,
I am a friend of Andy's (ak-milw) and have been modeling on and off (mostly off ::)) for about 10 years now.
I model in HO but when I do projects like this one...I sure wish it was O scale. Too many tiny parts!!!
Anyway, I wanted a crane for my upcoming scrap yard and got the Jordan kit:
Here are those tiny parts:

Getting started:

Going off script. I was "google-ing" pics of Erie cranes and I came across a modeler who left the side panels & doors off his crane...I liked the open way it looked and decided to do the same:

ready for final assembly and some paint:

I learned a lot from this project...but I have to be honest and say that I almost used this crane for scrap. I find working on vehicle and equipment kits in HO scale very frustrating. Having gorilla mitts doesn't help either ;D
Take care!
Steve
Well Buddy, The crane sure looks like it belongs in the scrap yard, I don't think it has run in years.
Another excellent job Sir.
Steve- great job- the weathering is superb. Hope we see more builds from you.
Excellent work Steve.....the weathering is wonderful. 8)
Steve,
Nicely done.
Tom ;D
Steve
Very nice work! Thanks for sharing it with us.
Nice work Steve.
I like it!
Great looking Crane and the weathering is excellent.
Jim
Gorilla mitts or not...a nice job. I need to try one of the Jordan kits. Have a few in the stash. Nice work! 👍🏻
Nice job!
Looks great Steve! I have the HO Erie B-2 Steam Shovel (not built) sitting somewhere on the workbench. I need to muster up the courage to tackle that thing one of these days. ::)
Steve......
Great crane.
You definitely have rust figured out..
thanx
Bob
Wonderful job on the crane.
Jeff
Thanks for showing Steve, I have one still in the box, this was sure encouragement to build it.
Thank you everybody! I appreciate the warm welcome and kind words ;)
I have really just started to poke around this site, but I am in awe of the work that I have seen posted here. Excellent stuff (https://modelersforum.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi867.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fab236%2FAdison4eva%2FAnimated%2520smiley%252000%2Fsmiley_two_thumbs_up.gif&hash=fdc797149e4518daec357885704ff901e835d217)
Thanks again
Steve
Hi Steve:
I have some of those around somewhere. I haven't built a Jordan in 20 years. I probably forget how. Your looks great.
