Yep!
This is my entry for the Build Challenge 2016.
The Fenster's farm fresh by Bar Mills.
HO Scale
Item 0142
I love how it looks....it's a different and interesting building....and the most important; the weathering possibilities are various. ;)
Anyway, I don't know exactly if I will build it abandoned or heavy weathered yet.
I will preserve the original idea, and maybe, inclusive the art box colours, but my intention is scratch build the interiors. The paper glued on the window isn't the best way to finish this lovely kit....

Looks like an interesting kit Polux. I'll be following along! :D
Cool. I really like this building. It is on my short list of kits to build. I will be following.

What Bob said.

I have this building also. I like the way it looks but always felt that it needs a deck under the overhang.

Don't worry.....they will have a special section near the window :) :) :)

Tom ;D
Another great kit - I will be watching the build.
I'll be watching your progress on this cool little kit, Polux.
Cheers, Mark.
I'm just like a caboose .... I follow....
Thank you very much for your comments guys!
I will try to post a complete under construction thread describing the entire step by step...
Finally I started the Build Challenge....
The first work...clean and sand the clapboards on this part of the building.
I added some damage using this tool and sanded with a very fine sand paper (4000).

A pre shade. I used drawing ink (Sepia).
A second colour, the nut brown.
The last one is a thinned green.
Once dried I added a black wash. Using inks as well.

The last coat is a mix of acrylics. In fact is another wash too.
The last step is a pin wash. Is a really tedious work ....but the difference is visible and add more volume and shadows at the walls.
I should say that the difference of colours and tones are more subtle on live view. The camera show them so much.....or I shot incorrectly :)
Now I have the wall ready to add the white colour!! Maybe tomorrow if the work allows me.....
Thanks for looking
Polux
Polux,
Nice job on the wall staining. Looks very good to me. Nice and weather/sun beaten.
Tom
Good use of different stains Pollux , the wood looks great.
Wow! I really like the effect that you achieved using all of those different washes. I'll have to give that a try on one of my next builds. Keep up the great work and the photos.
Yep! Thanks guys ;)
Hi Polux:
Wow!!!! Those walls really came out well. I really like the finished look of the walls. I will surely be following along.
Karl
Polux,
The walls look great the way they are. I am not really sure about painting them white.
