Title: Wheels and Tires...
Post by: DarkJester on February 17, 2014, 04:59:50 PM
I may or may not have mentioned that I'm building the MI-Jack Crane From Walthers.
As I'm building I am also trying to add those extra details that will make it look better.
The tires/wheels really look bad on this thing.  I have looked around online and cannot seem to find a substitute.
My only recourse may be to build up the existing plastic wheel/tire, and cut the tread pattern into each tire combo to make the tire look like a tire.
Sounds like a lot of work.
Unless any of you seasoned guys have other ideas.
A real rubber tire would be really nice, but these are pretty large.
Way bigger than the standard 18 wheeler tire.

Any Ideas?

thanks,

Jester

Jester, Try Ralph Ratcliff Models. He sells 18.00" x 35" made for a Mack off road dump that should be about the same. Single front wheels are about 3 bucks a piece but the castings are as nice as you can find. Shoot him an e-mail for the exact size. Raymo
