Okay...I'm in. Kenny's got this cool seafood joint that will go well with KC's Tarr & Wonson, so I'm throwing my X-Acto into the ring.
Dave,
Kenny does have some cool kits. This one looks like it will be a fun build. I'll be following along.
Tom ;D
OH Boy, another cool build to watch.
Jim
Mhmmm...nice building.
I will be watching :)
This is a neat looking building. I'll be watching your build for sure.
Welcome 'board, y'all. Pix soon!
Here's KC's Tarr & Wonson, which I built early this summer, but t's been sitting alone and without a proper home since. Thought adding the new Pappy's would make for a nice diorama. Never done any seaport scenes before.
Come to think of it, Bob's Bait & Beer from KC's was also one I did this summer...surely it could use a homey seaport neighborhood, too!
So...off to the races. Did a parts inventory, sanded the edges of the walls, and began nail holes.
I checked Kenny's website maybe two weeks ago and the kit wasn't there. He must have slipped it in after.
I am looking forward to your build, Dave.
Vilius
You must have just missed it, Vilnius. I believe it was released about two weeks ago.
Dave,
Any up dates on the build?
Tom ;D
Thanks for asking, Tom. The build is done, but it turns out I took all my pix in (D'OH!!!) black and white. Don't ask. Question is, should I just post the finished build or go ahead and do the thread anyway?
Great kit...goes together quickly with no problems.
DK
Dave,
Whatever you choose is good by me. How about some photos in color of the finished build? Inquiring minds and all that.
Tom ;D
I agree color photos of the final build and B&W for the build would be of interest.
Well, alrighty then...coming at you this weekend!
I'll be following along

I agree with Karl, great job on both kits.
Tom ;D
Well, after a hellacious September and early October I've emerged from hades and can get back to what really matters. I love Kenny's kits, and this one has turned out to be a really fun build. First, the goodies...
... and more "bits 'n' bobs" ...
This is where my embarrassing black and white pictures come in. Anyway, I distress the exterior of the wall pieces, add (GASP!) nail holes, add corner trim since it'll be the same color as the walls, brace the back side with 1/8" strip wood, paint the interior of the walls black, and give the whole shebang (exterior) an inkahol bath.
Upper layer dry brushed with Depot Buff. Bottom layer sponge-patted with that Karl Scholz favorite, Red Chromate primer.
Painted/weathered windows and doors. Installed in walls, glazed with acetate and added window shades.
Framed the loading doors and added a "concrete" apron.
Raised the four walls. In addition to the peaked roof there are two levels of flat roofing, so these cross walls get installed as well.
Then it's time for rafter tails...lots of rafter tails.
Oops...added wall signs first, THEN raised the walls.
The two flat roofs get roofing paper. Peaked roof is shingled.
More signs, trim for under eaves, rafter tails trimmed.
The addition on the back is covered in corrugated metal and roofed with rolled roofing and a few battens.
Got some "normal" shots.
Dave,
Looking very good. Love Pappy's sign.

Dave,
Looking very good. Love Pappy's sign.
Tom ;D
I'll second that motion. ;D Looks great!
Thanks for stopping in. Lesson learned...if you convert to black and white, KEEP A COLOR SET! 🙄
Looking great!
Superb modeling .
A few additional steps as she nears completion. Accoutrements for the roof added. I think I need to add some roofing pitch (Gallery Glass Liquid Leading) around the feet of the sign.
The paper awnings need to be toned-down...maybe powders.
Dock and corrugated metal awning.
...and just a couple more for now.
Dave ,
Wonderful job love what you've done with the place !! LOL
Got a hankerin' for some chowdah! Nice kit, KC. 👍🏻
Dave, the build has some lovely roof lines and colouring.
I appreciate that. Roofs are not my strength. Fortunately the kit comes together beautifully.
