Donato, Have you been roaming around Boston today ?? I was in town earlier today and heading in this evening as our daughter is performing in a show. Small world perhaps,

Sorry for the interruption Karl, now back to your build !!
I'll be following along ...
Karl,
Two things for sure

I'll be watching as well Karl
Hi All you guys and gals:
Thanks for all the interest in my build. Finished up 4 of the walls yesterday. Using Doug's paint scheme of white and blue. My build will be a little less weathered as it is an operating business right on main street.
The White is Craftsmart Bizcocho. The blue is Floquil GN Big Sky Blue. Dry-brushed lightly with gray.
Here's a so far photo. On to the main walls.
Karl
Hi Guys:
On to the main walls. Opps they got a little warped from the A&I. The others looked like that to..
Karl
I thought you braced all your structures Karl, well anyway a nice task on hand to fix.
Hi All:
Got a little work done today. The sign on the rear wall was added by me. It is not in the kit. I will post it here for your use also.
Karl
Hi Jan:
I never brace before painting.
Karl
Hi Guys:
Also added this sign from the 2008 Structure Show kit. I has a friend change the angles so it would fit properly. It will also be included for you to use in your kit. Hope you like it.
Karl
Looking very nice, Karl.
I really like this design too - one of my favorites.
Cheers, Mark.

Hi Jan:
I never brace before painting.
Karl
Very curious as I am , why not Karl , isn't that why you brace to keep the walls from warping?
I agree Jan.
The first paragraph of any FOS kit states"Before any paint or weathering is done, the walls must be braced..."
Mike
I do the nail holes first and then brace prior to painting or staining. Karl's end result is wonderful so what we have here is another way to achieve the end.
Tom ;D
HI Mark:
Glad you like it. thanks for the compliment.
Karl
Hi Jan:
Here is the reason. Kit instructions say brace before painting. I prefer my walls to be flat on the workbench to apply the corner trim. I weight the wall down and apply it. Then I apply the bracing. I just works better for me.
Karl
Hi Mike:
It's the way I prefer to do it. As you can see the walls are now perfectly flat. Weights are wonderful things.
Karl
HI Tom;
You are correct. Its easier for me to do it this way. Thanks.
Karl.
This just goes to show there's more than one way to get things done and, as long as the end result looks terrific, it doesn't really matter which approach you take.
I'm following along Karl. I picked this one up at the EXPO although it may be years until I get around to building it.
Karl, Like the way the structure is coming along. Like the tar & gravel roof. Thanks for the signs for us to use as required!
Mike Sigmon
Hi Mike:
Thanks. You are quite welcome. I'm a sign freak I just love putting them on my models. I had a company called Wales Jct. scale Signs for about 10 years. I sold HO Scale billboard kits and sign sheets. I have quite a collection of old advertising. I had a lot of fun doing it while it lasted.

Thanks Karl for the explanation. I thought you had found a way to save all that nice 1/8th square wood in the FOS kits. Finding a supplier of scale wood in the UK is well nigh impossible, so I value any spare wood like gold.
Keep up the good work. I have already got "your" sign as I am just about to build Osolinski's Tattoos.......... ;D
Mike
Hi Mike:
I you have the 2008 Show kit that sign is in it. This sing has been revised to fit my area. Thanks for the compliment
Karl
Thanks Karl , I wasn't questioning your workmanship , but you know that, and your explanation makes perfect sense.
Hi Jan:
Thanks appreciate your comment as always.
Karl
Hi All:
here's a progress photo. Building is finished and glued to base. Added some extra sidewalk to the front.
Karl
Karl,
Great job on Gordon's.
Tom ;D
Karl, Gordon finished out perfect. Looks like the structure would be right at home on main street USA.
Mike Sigmon
Well Karl, I would say I will be following along. But, your done with the build before I find the thread. Another great build. And fast!
Karl
Another great build the colors and signs look great.
Hi Tom, Mike, John S., and Jim:
Thanks for the compliments. Much appreciated. It's not quite done yet. Need to do detail and some scenery on the base yet.Hope to finish today or tomorrow.
Karl
Hi guys:
It's almost done. All I have left to do is the roof dormer. Then I will post final photos.
Karl
Hi Guys:
Just finished Gordon's Novelty. Here are the final photos. Will be leaving for vacation for a week tomorrow so I wont be on the PC.
Karl
Nice job as usual, Karl. Have a fun vacation.
Jeff
