Title: Final diorama pics Hilltown Entrepreneurs
Post by: Zephyrus52246 on March 05, 2017, 11:07:52 AM
The dioramas are finished except for trees (which I don't have) and bushes, etc.  This will be done when the "middle building" gets built and planted.  Here's a before and after pic of the layout where they go.  Where am I gonna pile stuff now?   ;D  This "only"  took me 6 months to complete.  ::)  Thanks again to Raymo for the challenge!

It's morning at Raymo's garage.  This business was started in the 30's by Ray Senior and his brother Mike.  They went off to war leaving it in the hands of their son, Ray Junior, a real whiz with fixing and painting cars and trucks to look like new.  Mike was a ball turret gunner on a B-24 and was lost on a raid.  Ray Senior returned and he and his son are doing a booming business.  Here senior is closing up the doors before working on an oil change and carburetor issue.  Meanwhile junior is hauling a tire up for a truck that's coming in later for work.  Busy, busy.

Meanwhile, up the road at Tiny Lou's Grill.  Folks are enjoying hot dogs/hamburgers.

Next door at Baker's General Store, Mrs. Welch and baby Jody are looking over what produce is available.  Looks like Johnny Cooper's bike out front, probably in getting an ice cold Pepsi after ball practice.

Uh, oh.  Looks like Bull's Eye, the Wonder Pigeon has left his mark on Jack Smith's just washed Dodge.

Great story and Great build Dr. Jeff. There was a garage in town like this up until the late 80's that my Father dealt with for all of his automatic transmission work. It was run by 3 brothers, had a dirt floor, and no lifts. All the work pulling and installing transmissions was done with the cars up on jackstands but the guys were the best in town. My brother and I used to joke about one of the brothers that when he needed a haircut, he'd just dip his hand in the transmission fluid and brush his hair back till he had time to get one.

Absolutely wonderful!   ;D  ;D  ;D

The only problem with Tiny Lou's is it takes a couple thousand of those little, teeny, tiny hamburgers and hot dogs to satisfy my appetite.   ::)  :P ;D

You did a wonderful job on this build.  I will be using your build thread as a reference when I build mine.

If the car needs fixing, will go to Raymo's garage .... If a cold Pepsi is wanted, will go to Baker's General Store .... If hunger comes calling, will go to Tiny Lou's Grill for those great burgers and dogs....Jeff....Thanks for sharing your great SRMW build !
