Title: New Haven "Wire Train"
Post by: New Haven/MTA junkie on March 26, 2017, 03:44:33 PM
This is just an add-on to my previous post. The HO scale work platform has the ability to be raised and lowered like the original. Here's some additional pics.

Storyline 24 April 2017, I have finally finished the wire train and am building a diorama for it and the upcoming Train Model contest at the Titletown Train Show in Green Bay WI on 29-30 April. I'm adding some preliminary photos just taken moments ago.

The train contest is over and the "Wire Train" took Best of Show, yay. Added here are the latest photos of the finished project taken in an outdoor setting the day of the contest.

MTA Junkie,

Welcome to the forum. the "Wire Train" looks wonderful and the fact it moves up/down is amazing. Wonderful craftsmanship. Very well done.

Thanks for sharing the photos.

Good, bad, or indifferent, I'm committed to this project now. I have a 27 April dead line to get it finished. I am working on the wire replenishment car that goes with the set. That one is about 75% done. The trick will be to find the wire techs to bring it to life for the diorama I'm putting together. Thank goodness I don't have to create the engine from scratch!  ;D

Chuck,
Nice close up pics of the platform car. I like the movable parts and did i see lights?  Do they work also?  If yes, are they on a lighting decoder? That would be pretty cool.  Thanx Thom...
