Another morning at Miller and Kemp.
Looks like Mr. Kemp has found a book to read. Skippy the Wonderhound is wondering when lunch is coming.
The bossman wants that new planer moved in pronto, Jed wonders how he'll move it as it weighs a ton.
Here are some pics of how it will sit on the layout.
This was a good kit. The instructions are minimal, but if you've built a few kits it should not be difficult. As I noted in my build thread, it would have been very helpful to have the finished pics when I was building it. Things I would have done differently: I would have used 2 x 8 fascia on the roof edges, and would have covered the actual roof card with it. I may have built the back side roof/wall as well and maybe not used the lumber storage shed on the layout, but it's still not very visible from the front of the layout. I would have made the stairway wider as well. Note that none of the details shown are in the kit, except for the chimney and the gooseneck lamps. There are a few plaster tires, garbage cans and an oil tank in the kit, none of which I used. I managed to build this in less than a month, which is a record breaking pace for me. Next up is finishing the scenery in this area. Thanks to Groovy Jeff for such a great kit, and again to Dan for thinking up the build challenge which started me to finish this area of the layout.

Nicely done, Jeff. Enjoyed following the build. Looking forward to seeing it planted. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Jeff,
Looks great, love all the detail touches, figures, barrels, crates, owner reading a book, outside stairs, etc. Tell Jed he can use some pieces of pipe to roll that new planer into place, easy peasy.
Well done Jeff.....that section will look great when you get the scenery done. 8)
Looks good between Baker's and Raymo's. :D
Awesome Job Jeff.
