Title: Images inline with your post LESSON 2
Post by: RailroadKits on March 16, 2014, 03:05:00 PM
In Lesson 2 we'll show you how to use the Gallery to post your images "inline"

I keep two windows open in my browser, and jump back-and-forth between them.

Step One. Access your gallery:

Everyone here on the Modelers Forum has a gallery.

It's called "MYGALLERY" !!!

Add a picture to your gallery:

View the picture you uploaded. Then, copy the IMG tag BB Code. Paste the code where you'd like that photo to appear in your post:

Okay, question about loosing photos once they are posted.

I followed Jimmy's directions on posting larger "in line" photos by using the My Gallery and the BBC code to post them.

Once the photos were posted, I deleted them from my forum gallery. Once I did this I noticed the "in line" photos were missing. The photo outline was there with the small box and the RED X.

Is this why I lost the photos? Do all the photos have to stay in the "MY GALLERY" so they are not lost to the thread?

Hope this makes since. There has to be a way to remove the MY GALLERY photos without loosing them in the thread. Otherwise, a guy like me may have a few thousand photos in MY GALLERY. I tried to move them to sub- catagories but this didn't help!

So, HELP!

Tom...

I wonder if the using of the code line from the gallery is a permanent link each time it loads a page.  So if it is no longer in the gallery it has nothing to link to.  Unlike uploading a photo directly from our machine to a post which is actually there.

Just a guess.

Bob,

I'm quite confident you are correct! When I reloaded the photos they were back. I really wish I could load them directly from the gallery on the hard drive as then I could name the photos. This way the photos uploaded are numbered in random order.

Hard to make a reference to a huge/long number. That said, this is still the forum I'll stay with regardless.

Tom...

I poked around in the gallery section and can't find where any text you put in the description are shows up when pulled over into a thread or placed back in the gallery.

I can't even find where it labels the photo by the title which it demands before it will assign it to the gallery.

I'm guessing the system is working acceptably........ I'm not  ! ! ! ! !

see ya

I believe the ADMIN can enable the viewing of various fields when you click on a picture in the gallery. It's just the matter of finding which one you want to see ans enabling it some how. The title, description and comments ate goid ones to enable.
